Touch Pro and SuperNatural

My Touch Pro controllers frustratingly occasionally lose tracking during Supernatural sessions.

Firstly, the controller avatars are of the original Quest 2 controllers (which, I’m proud to say I’ve worn out!).

While the session is going tho, the tracking is fine as the session starts, with warm up as well as the load screens.  Once the workout gets rolling, the controllers will lose tracking and will either stay where they are, or wind up a few feet away from where my hand actually is - for instance, it’s funny to see the controller appear a few feet ahead of me, where my arms cannot actually reach, and swing around exactly as I’m commanding my arm …. Then, after a length of time, it will snap back to where my hand actually is.

Worse tho are the times the controller stops wherever it thinks my hand is, and performs all the rotations of my hand, but not the up/down/front/back translations … during those times, i can see the supernatural baton swing THROUGH me as I’m trying to hit the targets to the beat.

My workout includes BeatSaber and FitXR, and the controllers work fine for both.  Also, I’ve done all the troubleshooting steps for these, including unpairing and repairing.  I’ve just turned back on hand tracking, but turned off auto switch between controllers and hand - I did this AFTER a frustrating workout, and I’ll test it the next workout.

Other than these, is there another thing to try?  Otherwise, please fix tracking - the touch pros should have alleviated tracking issues with their built in cameras, but the issue now is focused squarely on Supernatural.

Thanks

Hello,

We would love to help you with this and get your work outs back to being seamless.

Can you please attempt the following:

Make sure the tracking cameras of the controllers are clean. you need to use the cleaning cloth provided with the Quest Pro, or a dry, non-abrasive microfiber cloth.

  • Remove any unsupported third-party accessories that may affect tracking or pairing (such as controller covers, controller attachments, etc.)

Power cycle the controllers:

  1. Try rebooting the controller by holding down the Oculus/Menu button until you see the lights change.
    • This usually takes about 20 seconds. You should feel the "powering down" haptics, followed by the "powering up" haptics before releasing the button.
  2. If still not working, press Oculus or Menu button to ensure the controller is awake and flashing S.O.S. on the LED. The S.O.S. mode will blink in white with the S.O.S. pattern (3 quick blinks, 3 slow blinks, 3 quick blinks).
  3. Restart the HMD via holding the power button until the Power Menu comes up. Use the Gaze Cursor to select Reboot.
