Tracking lost

Had Quest 3 for 6 months. Has started recently having major issues saying tracking is lost. Takes 20 minutes of constantly resetting boundaries etc and eventually it just starts working until the next time I switch it off. The forums are full of similar complaints and it seems the only solution is to replace so I want to initiate that immediately under Australian consumer law. Contact me in the next 3 business days to initiate the process.

Yes, I went on the chat and followed all the steps they provided including factory reset. It worked the first time but the issues came back immediately after. 

Hi, @hypahypa.2023! The factory reset is typically the last resort after traditional troubleshooting. Hopefully, you were able to backup your device beforehand to retain any data of interest. To further optimize your device and play space though, consider the following for optimal tracking:

  • Playing environment is too bright, oversaturating the camera, or has interfering lights
    • Adjust the intensity of lights, try turning some lights off, reduce sun exposure or use curtains/blinders
  • Playing environment is too dark, preventing the tracking cameras working properly due to lack of lighting
    • Turn some light on, open curtains/blinders
  • Playing environment contains reflective surfaces, interfering with the tracking cameras
    • Covering the reflective surfaces while playing, play in a different location
  • Playing environment does not have enough contrast between objects or textures composing it
    • Play in a different location
  • Dirty tracking cameras

Are you experiencing this issue with both controllers? When does this issue occur? Does it happen only in certain games? Does it happen in the Home environment or in menus? I went through all of this with the help chat. As said previously this had only just started occurring and it was fine for the first 6 months in the same room.
