Tracking on my quest 2 doesn't work

So I was playing a game Roanoke and all the sudden my tracking stopped working and my headset rebooted upon it coming back up there was like this computer chip looking thing with an arrow going up or down I can't recall and then all the sudden I green status bar is if it was taking some sort of upgrade rebooted and then tracking kept coming and going coming and going I cannot get tracking to work I have factory reset everything on the internet I'm currently at OS version SQ3A.220605.009.A1

I have cleaned the cameras but I can honestly say that anytime I can get the guardian tracking to come up and this is only right after a reset I can set the boundary and it seems to kind of work but I can't see anything through the password cameras the cameras are nothing but blackness it's just the cameras are not working but everything seems okay and then it does updates or whatever and then the tracking starts coming and going and it's only a constant reboot cycle when I look at the recovery log after doing many factory reset I look at the recovery log when you do the recovery boot and it shows me this weird error that keeps sporadically popping up over and over again and I'm thinking it might be a hardware issue but weird again it's only happened after that like update that happened in the middle of the game which is weird but anyway the area that occurs is W:IAD HAL is offline I see it once when it is loading the manifest and then it gets to eo. Crypto. Allow_encrypt_overide true then I see one W:IAD HAL is offline then libfs_mgr dyfstab skip disable and like 20 W:IAD HAL is offline then one I brightness: 63 (25Percent) 4 more W:IAD HAL is offline then I:Brightness:127 (50 percent) then 4 W:IAD HAL is offline which is 110 percent of the log and it bounces me back to recovery when I next line it.

All I gotta say is I am frustrated and I have tried everything. Yes I charged. Changed controlled batteries, cleaned cameras, I prayed, and I ain't even religious. I just know there's a game of stormland I want to get back to and this headset won't let me....

Help please...

Howdy there, @ItsNoodIes! We completely understand if you're having issues with the headset tracking. We'd also like to thank you for letting us know about the type of troubleshooting you've tried, as well as the fact that there is no image with the cameras. You may be confident that you're in good hands, and we'll find the best possible solution for this. We'd like you to be able to respond to the questions we'll provide here.

 

  • Was the tracking working well before?
  • Has anything changed in your play area? New furniture, lights, etc?
  • Can you describe your play location for us?
  • Do you experience similar issues while playing in other locations?

If you could also try clearing the guardian history we'll leave the steps below:

 

Bear in mind that if you have multiple accounts on the same headset, Guardian history will be cleared for all accounts, not just the account you're currently using

 

  • Press the Oculus logo on your right controller
  • Click on the clock on the left side of the universal menu
  • Select Settings 
  • In the settings panel, select Guardian
  • Select 'Clear Guardian history'
  • Redraw your Guardian boundaries by selecting 'Adjust Guardian' from the Guardian settings menu

im having the same problems as him except it won’t load at all. I have not factory reset yet and according to him that doesn’t do anything to help have you come up with a different solutions considering that both of our cameras are perfectly fine. Our tracking was working perfectly well before and this is clearly like an oculus problem oh, I did check like the graphics test every time I loaded it says error and then it tries to fix it and then it just shows the error again every time I try to do the test I would just like a solution that works because I do not want to factory reset my stuff.

Hi there @AlexThePlagueBoi, we see you are having some issues with tracking. We understand how this can be inconvenient to your VR experience, and we want to do all that we can to get this problem looked into for you!

 

So that we can understand the nature of this issue a bit more, can you please let us know of the following:

  • Is the tracking issue only with the headset, or are you having issue with the controllers as well?
  • Is this for the standalone or in PCVR?

In the meantime, can you try a hard reboot to see it works out any kinks in the systems:

  1. Turn off your headset completely.
  2. Hold the power and volume (-) button on your headset down simultaneously until the boot screen loads on your headset.
  3. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Boot Device and press the power button.
  4. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Yes and press the power button.

I’ve tried everything on that menu I’m positive it’s not a tracking problem because it shut down and when I turned it back on it showed an update screen and after the update bar was filled it went to being stuck on the meta logo loading screen I even factory reset it and it’s still not working

Hey there. Thanks for reaching out to Meta Quest Support.

 

To try to resolve this tracking issue please try the following steps:

Check to make sure you have tracking enabled. Visit Settings > System > Headset Tracking > Check this is ticked.

Next try clearing your devices boundary settings and creating a new one. You can do this through settings again only navigate to Boundary settings this time and choose adjust.

Following this please reboot your device after removing any unsupported or third party accessories.
