Tracking problems, uninstalled Oculus now cannot reinstall (Can't connect to server)

A few days ago I suddenly started having head tracking issues. I'd never experienced this issue previously. FYI I'm not using touch, just the single sensor. The view will randomly move or 'jitter' then return to the centered view. Its extremely disorienting and has rendered my rift unusable.

After trying every combination of USB ports and upgrading my gfx drivers (gtx970) I decided to try reinstalling the Oculus software and drivers.

Now when I try to install I get the 'can't connect' error.

I've attatched a copy of my setup log file. I'd appreciate any help as I'm at my wits end on this.

I received a response from support on my ticket stating the +5V pin is always recessed, this is not the problem and my only real course of action is a clean install.

I'm not sure what's going on but I no longer see a send button to reply within the support ticket so I'm going to reply here:

I understand the +5V pin is normally recessed. It is still used by the rift though, correct? Mine appears to be bent and pushed back even further such that it is not making contact. Please review the additional pictures I've attached. You can see the pin is not visible at all in the square socket.

If this were the case that the 5V+ pin was not making contact, what would the symptoms be?

I'm not disagreeing simply for the sake of it. I genuinely think the pin is damaged and not making contact. Furthermore, I would much rather take the chance at replacing the cable before performing clean install.

ok so i figured out the problem. im sure a lot of us likes to run the cmd as admin. but in this case it does not need it. open your command promp or cmd. it will open c:\user\"yourname" just drop the OculusSetup.exe in that folder and type the command OculusSetup.exe /bypassHotfixCheck and it should open it and bypas the hot fix check as said
