Transferring child account to another guardian

SomeCoyote

Is it possible to transfer a child account to another guardian like with the apple family system?

I am managing one child account currently and I wanted to know if it's possible to transfer a child account to another guardian before adding more of the kids accounts to my own account. If their mom buys a headset it would make sense for their accounts to be transferred to her later, or even better to have a shared guardianship.

Is any of this possible?

Regards,

Hey, @SomeCoyote! Thank you for your input on this! We wanted to make sure we were able to get back to you as soon as possible. Even if you change this, it is not highly recommended. All the purchases are tied to whichever parent account is linked to the children, so if the parent account is changed (as in from yours to the mother's) then it is likely that the child will lose access to previous games. However, we do see the beauty in this idea and would highly recommend that you voice this on the Idea Forum! This will allow other users to quickly navigate to this and also voice how important it is for this feature to be available. We hope this helps, please let us know if you have any further questions and we will be more than happy to address them as soon as possible!

Just wanted to drop a note here that even though the answer says "even if you change this", you can't change this for an under 13 y.o. account. I contacted support, and they originally told me to do that for a 10-12 y.o. account, then when I pointed out that there's no option they realized their mistake.

Really big shortcoming of Meta's parental supervision. Also the fact that you can't have TWO parents controlling it is a big shortcoming. Unfortunately, most tech companies seem to drop the ball on these kinds of things. Makes me wonder if any of them have ever actually had kids.
