Trying to Purchase a Game

I’m having difficulty purchasing a game for my son’s device.  He has a child’s account, so I have to purchase and then gift him the game.  We have gift cards and a credit card saved into my digital wallet.  I click on the buy for friend and put in his information and then type in my pin to purchase.  We then receive a message that the gift has been sent.  But nothing happened.  Nothing is sent, doesn’t show up in our purchase / order history or emails.  (We’ve tried multiple times with the same result).  We’ve reached out to chat support multiple times and have not had success.  Last night my husband chatted with them for over 2 hours and was told they would escalate the situation up to his supervisor and would give us credit for the inconvenience.  We have yet to receive the credit nor have the situation resolved.  My husband checked back with support today and no help.  As seen in the chat below we were told that we would hear back one of these days.  Very frustrated.  Honestly, if I knew it would be this hard to purchase games I don’t think I would have purchased the device.  Has anyone else had similar issues?  If so how did they get resolved?  Thank you!

My husband and I have spent approximately 6 hours total speaking with chat support and have yet to receive a resolution.  Is there a phone number we can call to speak directly with someone?  We seem to be going in circles trying to communicate using the chat and message functions.
