His account has been up and running for a few days now, but tonight he said when he went to log in, he couldn't. Investigating, myself, it just looks broken, like he's both never had an account, but definitely does, because it also doesn't want him to create a new one.
The specific errors: on "log in with email (which is the only the the account has)" it results in "Log in with your existing account to keep your VR apps and info. Continue with Facebook so we can move your VR apps and info to your new Meta account. You can remove Facebook later."
Stupid that he should have to double up, but fine, I tried to entertain it, clicked "log in with Facebook" which brings us to: "You already have a Meta account To log into your existing Meta account Log in with your email, **********@*******.com. If you want to use Facebook to log in, you’ll need to add it to the same Accounts Center as your Meta account. To create a new account with Facebook Use a different email address than your existing Meta account." with two available buttons: "Log in to Meta account" which just brings you right back to the log in screen, resolving nothing, and "Create new account" which might as well be the same **bleep** button. Like I said, asinine.
Any insight much appreciated, but as it is, planning on returning this trash for a better (apple?) product by the weekend.
Supposedly they are working on it.. but having same issue, my boys saved up to get a VR, they came in yesterday. We setup with my wife and my facebook/insta/meta since that's MANDATED to do..... worked for a day, then tonight kicked us both out, app is there with name and email, click login, tells you go to website.. try login there, get in the loop your talking about... endless.... I feel so bad cause they were so excited to get these things and they are absolute trash. 24 hours in and not working cause meta login mess..... of course. Already know how their customer service works from when facebook got hijacked with someone using a "meta" account.... yet here we are. What product does apple have? I figured i'd just have to get them playstation VR stuff which is twice the price but probably works.... and doesn't require some crazy login process.
Were you able to login here, or did you have to make a new login, I couldn't login with normal account to the meta at all so had to make one to login here to comment.
This is my account, hooked into facebook, etc, but haven't used it for vr stuff yet. As for alternatives, couple guys at work are praising Vive and Apple Vision Pro, and while one's pretty steep, from what I understand these "just work". PS5 is another route I'd consider, after having PS4 VR forever.
Thanks, I'm give them a day or so, then shipping these back. The kids want these cause their friends have them to play with .
