One week ago, my Instagram was hacked. I had some of my friends report it as a hacked account. Through that, Instagram was able to take action and close the account. However, since then, I have been attempting multiple times now to be able to verify my identity, through selfie verification. I am doing this process on my phone through the mobile app. I am able to receive the first code, both through my phone number and email address, as neither of those were changed by the hacker. Then, I select the process of verifying my identity through selfie verification. However, the issue I have been running into is that I am not getting that second code to start the selfie verification process. I am also confused because I am sending it to the same email address that I use for the first verification code. I don't understand how I can start the verification process but not finish it. Can someone please help me out? I have had this account for 8 years. I really want it back.
