I'm posting this for my brother, cuz he won't.
He just bought a Quest 3 a week ago, it's updated to v71. He bought an fairly expensive Quest link cable from BestBuy under the Insignia Brand (It's all they had). It was half the price of the Meta original one.
A few days later, he starts getting the message that the USB Port has detected moisture or debris, and that charging has been disabled. He has been getting it consistently for the last several days.
Being that these are both brand new, this shouldn't be happening. I'm concerned it may be the something more serious, like a bad cable, or worse, a bad Quest usbc port.
It seems fine otherwise, the headset charges just fine using the Quest Charger, it's just whenever he plugs in the Quest Link cable.
He is using it on a Brand new Alienware M16 R2 laptop, with two usbc ports, one with charging.

I've been informed that flipping the cable around so that the L shaped side is connected to the laptop instead of the Quest 3 seems to have fixed the issue. Perhaps it's a defective cable or just a poor brand quality. Hecwill return the cable to BestBuy and order a better cheaper one from Amazon. Hopefully this is the end of the issue.
