Unable to enable "Unknown Sources"

Anonymous
Not applicable
I am unable to enable unknown sources. I start up Oculus Home and go to
Settings, and then I click the toggle button to enable Unknown Sources.
A spinwheel will appear next to the toggle button for 5 or 10 seconds
and I'll receive the message "Unknown sources allowed on Rift". But
when I actually try to start up a third party game I'll receive an error
that tells me to go to the aforementioned menu and enable unknown
sources.

If I go back to that menu the toggle button still shows Unknown sources
as enabled. However if I restart Oculus Home then the toggle button for
Unknown sources is set back to disabled. Every time I restart Oculus
Home it's disabled.  Other options such as "Automatic Updates" can be enabled/disabled just fine and their value persists even if I restart Oculus Home.  But not "Other sources".

I've tried repairing Oculus Home and reinstalling Oculus Home with no success (restarted several times in between of course).

UPDATE 05/19/2018
This issue was never solved for me but I have more information
about the cause of the issue.  I've discovered that the Unknown Sources
error will display when the connection to Oculus's servers is lost.  I
am able to keep Oculus Home updated to the latest version on my
connection but my situation at home is that I am not able to stay
persistently connected to Oculus servers at all times.  Therefore I'm
unable to use the HMD.  I've discovered that if I use my computer at a
different location that has a persistent connection, then I have
absolutely no issues with Other Sources.

So
hopefully that will help you guys debug this issue.  Not everyone can
maintain a persistent connection to Oculus servers but we'd still like
to use the product we've purchased.  Thanks

Yes, it works!! My fix was to do a second "repair" and it works so far
activate unkown sources and reboot... if it's still activated, you are good! if not, have an other "repair"
