Hello there. Is Gear VR completely dead? Tried to install software at my s7 edge, but there's simply no "Download" button. Is there something I can do with it?

Why not get to the bottom of it right here so everyone can know what needs to be done with our gear vr. I can tell u what’s going on right here. I keep getting a “facebook session has expired” message from oculus and a “can’t load url” message from Facebook. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled meta quest about 5 times and it never made any difference. I messaged you guys like you asked in a pm and it took 12 days for you to get back to me only to tell me to uninstall and reinstall meta quest. I answered and I suppose I’ll hear from u in another 2 weeks

You can't clear the data on the setup wizard on the S8 and how do you "boot to the setup wizard"? My S8 started doing this last week. I only keep it stream movies on my Gear VR.

Yes I need help and have sent you a pm. And I tried what was suggested by one user and nothing is working. It still wants to do an update that doesn't exist.

It's been months and this issue has yet to be fixed? What is going on over there at meta?

after a while searching around here on this forum this site was linked with a fix/work around for this issue:
https://gearvr.net/unbrick
they have a zip file full of the apk's you need to get around this issue.
there's another drive folder with more helpful apk's that are not hosted by gearvr.net that you may need. i needed the samsung internet vr apk from this drive folder.

Hey everyone! I saw this thread gaining some traction. Since 03/18/2024, all Gear VR devices have stopped receiving any further updates or allowing app installations and will stay as is. Emails should have been sent out 01/18/2024. Although Gear VR is no longer being supported, the support team is still here to help you with any other VR-related issues you may be facing.
I am going to lock this thread since it's fairly old, but I suggest taking a look at some of the solutions others may have provided in this thread to see if any work for you. Thank you for your understanding!
