My specs: Windows 10, 256gb Quest 2, USB-A to USB-C cable to my PC, file size ranges from 8GB-20GB
I have over 70GB available in my Quest 2 but I'm unable to transfer large MP4 video files (all of which are >9GB) to it. I have developer mode enabled with USB debugging activated and I can't directly transfer the files over on my PC nor with Sidequest. The transfer reaches 100% but the file does not appear in my Oculus with both methods.
Several people have posted about this issue on Reddit very recently as well, some of them noted that a factory reset did not fix the issue so I have not and will not try that.

It's now the MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) notification setting in the developer menu.

Speaking of connecting with a cable. Is there a way to auto connect to the PC. Instead of going into the Meta Quest and approving the connection each time?

No, there's no way to prevent the notification/connection/acceptance prompt that I know of.
There was a switch recently added to auto-initiate Link when you connect, but even that still requires you to accept a notification.
I suppose the thinking is that disabling notifications and just connecting is thought to introduce more nuisance connections than would eliminate nuisance notifications.

Ah ok, fair enough I thought that was the case! Thanks for confirming.

That doesn't happen when I connect to PC. I don't get any notifications, or options to click.
12-19-2023 11:52 AM
Yes I've found that but I still don't get a notification to connect to the PC via USB.

Sometimes it's a small notification. I've notices if I connect using a USB 2 type C cable, or connect to s USB-2 socket, I get a small pop-up at the bottom that says 'Headset charging at slower rate', then I have to wait for that pop-up to go before the next pop-up says 'USB detected, click on this pop-up'.
Do you get any pop-ups when yo plug in? do you get any connection sound from the headset when you plug the cable in?

I don't get any pop-ups when I plug in. I do get a sound from my PC that a device connected but it doesn't show up in file explorer. When I do look through devices the Quest does pop up under "unspecified". I tried going through device manager to see if I could update my drivers but the Quest doesn't show up in device manager either.

OK there should be a connection sound form the PC and a connection sound in the headset.
I think what might be a good idea to try is disabling developer mode (phone app, Devices>Quest_Headset Settings>Developer Mode) then re-enable developer mode, and do a headset restart after each of those.
Then after re-enabling MTP in the headset developer menu, if a notification still doesn't appear, go into the notifications screen (via the bell icon at the bottom) and then connect the cable whilst in that screen. This made a difference to me once but I assumed it was just a coincidence.
