So 2023 i saw couple vids on youtube you can finally uninstall gear vr service. When people have phonea version 12 and up.
From my first phon samsung galaxy s7 i always played games such as pokemon go. Bought a case 2017 played games, never overheat. Once I bought samsung gear oculus vr. I didn't had issues until I started playing my games such as pokemon go with a case an no case.
Regardless the cord I used. Went through 2 phones, had to replaced the batteries.
When I bought my second phone did the samsung switch the gear vr which I didn't even clicked. Got transfer. This is on your side you the one made sure that gear service couldn't be uninstalled or disable. Now it's 2023 I updated the app in hoping would let me uninstall. Nope! People have android 12 and up are aloud to uninstall. Do you know how unfair that is? I can't even get my data from my samsung s7 phone cause of this.
As even sansung removed the option to select you want to transfer. Heck I even contected oculus support about this. And the agent is like this is the first time knowing this.

Hey! That's odd, I also haven't personally heard of not being able to uninstall the app. I can definitely see how that'd be concerning.
Are you able to provide a screenshot of any possible messages you get when trying to delete it? How about a possible video of the process of trying to delete it? (You could upload to YouTube and set it to public for me to get a look)
Just to confirm. I see you also mentioned people above android 12 are able to uninstall the app, are you currently running android 12?

My 2 phones samsung galaxy s7 the app gear vr service the disable is greyed out.
Couple people from here mention about can't uninstall or disable even on the samsung forom.. theres videos of that on youtube.
I recently saw a video on youtube that andriod users version 12 and above are able to uninstall. But they have issues. As facebook, facebook messender will uninstall too.
All I want is to have access to uninstall gear service vr, both of my phones samsung galaxy s7. Everyone had this issue even from overheating.

After looking into this a bit, it looks like the app comes preinstalled with certain Samsung phones. This is pretty common for carriers to do as they want to force you into using their apps. It looks like you're kinda stuck with it unless you look into rooting your phone, but if you don't have any experience with this then I don't recommend it.

Thank you from replying oculus should of made an update ongear vr so you can uninstall the app
I mention from having samsung galaxy s7 I was able to do everything in playing games having a case no draining battery. Once I bought samsing gear oculus. Meaning never had issues before. Cause wasn't pre installed... the forum you showed and copy everyone mention does not work.
I should have a right to have this gone. Oculus should of never had sansung gear vr in the first place.

It's definitely a big more complicated then that but I do understand where you're coming from. I wish phones didn't have bloatware myself but unfortunately Samsung has consistently done this for years now.
It should be said that Samsung officially killed all support for Gear VR a while back so there will be no future updates to the app.
