Come to use my oculus rift and it said update needed, when I clicked update now it closes oculus then opens a file explorer window then nothing, I've left it for hours and still nothing. Tried a repair install of oculus and uninstall, same thing opens a file explorer window then nothing. I've since deleted all folders relating to oculus, and downloaded the latest setup, it downloads 1.71GB then sticks on installing been going for over an hour. Now I have no software or drivers and can't use my rift. Any ideas to get it installed again?

I did submit a support ticket, they advised to remove all oculus folders in safe mode and re-run the setup. I did this and its the same result, I also tried installing it on another gaming pc that has never run oculus before, again same result. Oculus is not the only software i'm having an issue with I had a game that launched over 80 file explorer windows and failed to install. I discovered that command prompt no longer works and instead launches a file explorer window, I contacted Microsoft support about this, they recommended a upgrade re-install which I did but the problem still persists. Any help appreciated.
I ended up doing a full format and clean install of windows 10 creators edition, everything installed correctly so it looks like a corrupted update caused all the problems. Just got 600gb of games to reinstall now.
Its a windows issue it doesn't just affect oculus software, you may be able to do a refresh install without losing anything i'm going to try that on my other computer today. Download the media creation tool from Microsoft then choose upgrade now.
