Upgraded to Windows 10...now Oculus head tracking is jittery.

In July, I took the plunge and upgraded to Windows 10.  It went off without a  hitch, and I was pretty pleased with it overall.  However, soon after I noticed that I encountered some serious jittering and headtracking issues with the Oculus and I'm at a total loss as to why.

My main question is whether or not anyone else has experienced these issues after upgrading to Windows 10?  Is it a driver issue?  The only thing that really changed was the OS...nothing really as far as hardware.

Before the upgrade, I had an Inateck USB3 add-on card installed..the one recommended by Oculus.  I think it was a bad card and requested a replacement.  Regardless, it would run the Oculus Rift but it hated the sensor. I went ahead and just plugged directly into my rear USB2 motherboard ports for the sensor and it ran fine with no issues in all of the games I played. Including Eve: Valkyrie, Project Cars, and Assetto Corsa.  Even the VR demos like DreamVR did fine, and I had no issues with head tracking.

Fast forward and when I decided to hook-up the OR again...boom...instant issues suddenly reared their head in demos such as Surge & Alumette.  It's most noticeable in Alumette, but also noticeable in the more hardcore games like Eve and PC.  Where once, head tracking would be buttery smooth, now...there is ghosting...jitteriness that happens with every slight movement of my  head.

I've researched everything possible...and I'm at a loss of what to do. I've tried re-installing drivers, updating my drivers, re-installing OR and setting up everything again. And just today, I got a replacement card for the Inateck hardware.  I was hoping that was the case...but alas, although it does recognize the sensor well, it still has jitters.  Pluging the sensor into my USB2.0 ports does nothing to alleviate the issue.  It's not butter smooth anymore in either USB2 or 3.

I did notice that my Rift is identified as being USB 2.0 in the Oculus Settings...while my sensor is identified as using USB 3.0. But I kinda doubt that has anything to do with it.

Please help...I'm already prone to motion sickness, and with the jitteryness, it takes it to a whole another level of hurling. My Oculus is essentially a paperweight at this point.

My processor doesn't meet the minimum requirements..it never has, but it wasn't a problem before so I don't think that's the issue.

It's really strange...but on-screen...on my desktop, the video for Alumette is smooth as butter. Yet within the Oculus Headset, it's very jittery and pausing?  Why is that?

Windows 10 sucks...plain and simple, it cant even do basic things that we've always taken for granted...

...my current situation is I have an AV receiver connected to my PC and I normally output from my PC to receiver and then receiver to projector or TV but now windows 10 has messed it all up and it doesn't work like it did before on windows 7. I'm thinking of reverting back to windows 7. I've had my current situation for months and I've tried everything but nothing works.

Had problems outputting audio via HDMI too so had to switch to Optical and then had problems with Optical.

And even other issues with games that I never had before.

I'll let you know up front this is not an answer to your question but some similar problems I myself wish to discuss that might have their roots in Windows 10. First off my system more than meets the Rift's specs: i7 6900K (overclocked to 4.3ghz), GTX 1080, Win 10 Pro, Asus Rampage 5 motherboard, M2 SSD, 32 gig ram etc. And for the most part everything runs well - I run Eve Valkyrie with all graphics set to ultra and resolution at 135% without a single hitch or stutter in sight (its a different story with Elite Dangerous but I'll get to that later).

I never had any of the problems with the sensor that were being so frequently reported in the first few months of the Rift's release. While a lot of people were complaining about constant disconnecting and reconnecting, or Oculus home 'jumping' about, everything seemed to be rock solid and stable on my system. That is, until Oculus began releasing fixes for the sensor problem. Now, while other people claim these fixes have helped them, I'm now getting frequent jittering and jumping around of Oculus home and the occasional 'please reconnect your sensor' message, though head tracking is still very smooth. It seems the updates that fixed problems for other peoples systems are now causing problems for mine. However, since it was fine to begin with I can't really place the blame on Windows 10 and will just wait until Oculus get their software sorted.

Now to Elite Dangerous. This has 'jittered' and 'stuttered' right from the beginning. I've tried different graphics settings from VR Low to VR High to Ultra and it makes no difference whatsoever (Its not a frame rate issue but seems to be some kind of constant interruption, however I don't have this interruption in other games - or at least I don't notice it). Elite is playable but this stuttering and jittering really hurts the immersion. A search online has suggested multiple solutions from rolling back drivers to a full clean install to an 'i7 core parking' fix to a CPU overclock voltage setting problem! Many possible solutions (I haven't tried them all yet, the i7 core parking thing seems tempting but I'm worried about its impact on other software.) but no fix as yet. I was hoping 2.2 might have done something to address the stutter in Elite (it affects many other players too) but if anything it has got worse. I currently have a very slow internet connection (download 1.7mbit) but I'd be surprised if that was the cause of the stutter. I've also turned off as many background programs as I can and used Ultimate Windows Tweaker 4.2 to disable all privacy settings but this has made no change either.

So, is Windows 10 the cause of my stuttering in Elite or is it a hardware problem? Like you, I'm still searching for the answer. I'm hoping its a Win 10 issue that gets fixed soon as I'd hate to think I paid for an expensive system that hasn't been configured properly. Maybe the next person to add to this thread will have the answer. Anyway, I'm off to find some arsenic for Lei Cheung's grade 5 shield upgrade...hmm...maybe I'll try removing the TV output cable from my 1080 so I have only the Rift plugged into the card and see if that makes a difference to the stutter....

(edit about 9 hours later)...Nah, it doesn't (someone on the net said it worked for them)!

Yeah, right now I have tried everything within the threads, and basically nada.  Steam VR has even gotten worse for me...blech.

Did you guys ever find a solution? My Asus system shipped with Windows 10 and this was not a problem but ever since I updated my Nvidia drivers (GTX 970) i have this head stuttering problem. It's a nightmare!!!
