We are currently developing a VR application on the Meta platform, using a Meta developer account created specifically for app publishing. This account has already passed Business Verification in the Developer Console.
However, we recently lost access to the authenticator app (e.g., Google Authenticator) originally linked to the account for 2FA, and we are now completely locked out.
Here are the issues we’re facing:
The account was created solely for app publishing purposes, so it has no Meta device linked and no purchase or transaction history.
We have attempted to use Meta’s standard support flow, but the available recovery options all require device serial numbers or purchase receipts — which we cannot provide in this case.
This account is critical for us, as we are preparing for app submission and ongoing development, and the situation is time-sensitive.
We still have full access to the registration and company information tied to the account and are willing to go through additional identity or business verification steps if needed.
We’d like to ask: Is there an alternative recovery path for developer accounts that have completed business verification but lack consumer device or purchase history? Or is there a way to escalate this to support staff who can assist with manual identity verification?
