To start, we'd like to confirm you are creating a new username that meets the User Name Requirements. Please note that the system is able to block any usernames that are found to have offensive words.
Additionally, we would like to confirm if you are creating your account via desktop browser or mobile app. If via your desktop browser, have you cleared your cache and cookies, or checked for any available updates? And, if the mobile app, have you tried signing in and out and/or uninstalling and reinstalling the app?

Did you ever get it to work? My son just got his new meta quest 3 and anything and everything he tries it says unavailable. We tried deleting app and restarting, waiting a couple days, still same problem.
Hey there, @Billsmafia589mom Thanks for reaching out to us about this! There's a few requirements that must be satisfied. For the user name specifically:
Between 3 - 30 characters in length
Contains at least one letter
Starts and ends with a letter or number
Can use only numbers, letters, underscores, and periods
No consecutive underscores or periods
Please make sure all of these are satisfied for your user name! Please let us know how you're getting on!

I had the same problem for 2 weeks. Then finally it lets me to choose a username. Strange that username suggested by the app was also unacceptable by itself😟
