V71 Forced Update, Huge Graphical Errors & Performance Loss, Etc.

I Woke Up To This Morning To The Terrible News That My Quest Has Updated Itself To V71, This Is Frustrating Because I Had Every Auto Update Option Disabled And That Didn't Help.

 

As I Do The Usual "What The Frick Meta" Stuff I Decide To Chill Down And Play Some B&S Nomad With a QGO Profile,

And Oh My God Was It Terrible.

 

There We're SO MANY Graphical Errors, Stutters & Lag Spikes, Screen Tearing, ArtifactsRainbow Sparks, And Worse Overall Performance It Felt Actually Sickening To Play

What The Hell Happened??

 

I Have Very Strong VR Legs And I Still Got a Headache From The BS I Went Through.

 

This Is Not Acceptable. How The Hell Did This Update Get Through PTC??

Has It Been Confirmed Meta Knows About This?

Are They Doing a Update To Fix These Issues?

I Just Can't Believe This Update Even Exists I Swear..

Just to confirm, v71 has indeed been released to the public now, you can read more about all new features by clicking here: https://www.meta.com/help/quest/articles/whats-new/release-notes/


However, this is not the experience we wish for our consumers and would like to further investigate into the issues you are experiencing. Could you please explain further and let us know if this happens in all environments or just with specific apps?

This Happens In Practically Every Application I Played, Some Have It Worse Then Others But Ultimately They All Have Them

 

There's Some Rare Screen Tearing That Always Randomly Happens, Random Stutters, Seemingly Worse Performance, And More In Every App, Even In The Home Environment. 

Can we ask that you report this as a bug so that our engineering team can be made aware of this and work to resolve this!

 

  1. Press Meta button for VR headset controllers/oculus icon on your right Touch controller to pull up your universal menu.
  2. Hover over the clock on the left-hand side of the universal menu. When Quick settings appears, select it to open the Quick settings panel.
  3. Select Report problem.
  4. Select Include or Don't include to add complete logs and diagnostics.
  5. Follow the instructions to submit your report.

You can also quickly press the Meta button for VR headset controllers/oculus icon on your right Touch controller five times in a row to open the bug report tool.

Reported It Before Too But Also Just Recently Reported It Again

Please Fix It Soon As It's a Major Issue

Thanks for reporting this issue! For your information, the Public Test Channel (PTC) for Quest v72 is rolling out for Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S at the moment, so it may be that the issues on your headset could be fixed by installing this update. 

 

To sign up for eligibility for Meta Quest PTC from the Meta Horizon mobile app:

  • Open the Meta Horizon mobile app on your phone.
  • Tap your avatar picture at the bottom, then tap  in the top right.
  • Tap Devices,
  • Select the headset you want to find to join Meta Quest PTC with.
  • Tap Headset settings, then tap Advanced settings.
  • Tap the toggle next to Public Test Channel to try to join Meta Quest PTC.

If the toggle doesn't work, Meta Quest PTC is currently full and not available.

Just Updated And It Made It Worse..

 

Even More Screen Tearing Now

Additionally Performance Seems To Be Worse?? 

And Passthrough Is Now a Blurry Mess. 

V72 Seems To Have Made Performance Worse In Some Apps??

 

What The Hell Did You Guys Do

Even After Rolling Back To V71 The Apps Still Perform Worse

 

Please Fix This Quickly This Is Terrible
