VR Preview Not Working in Unreal with the Rift (CV1)

I have installed the latest version of UE4 (4.11), Windows 10 fully updated, Rift is setup and working outside of editor. However when I run UE4, VR Preview is greyed out. Does UE4 not support the newest Rift yet? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, guys.

Rift will be supported in 4.11.1, according to 4.11 release note.

I'm having the same problem with the DK2 with the updated runtime on UE4 4.11 and below

To get a DK2 working with UE4.11.0 you need to use the Oculus 0.8 runtime
To get the DK2 working with UE4.11.1 you need to update your Oculus runtime to 1.3.0 and get the latest Nvidia or ATI Driver

The only other thing required is to change your setting in the oculus home to allow 'Unknown Sources'

Make sure you have SteamVR running before launching UE 4.11.1 Editor.

This is working for me.

(from memory)

I start the Epic launcher, and launch the editor from there.  Oculus app automatically opens.  Open your project, open the Playback dropdown and click VR Preview.

It shows a local window on your desktop monitor that is completely black.  With headset off looking at the lenses the rift also looks off, but once I put it on (or cover the proximity sensor inside rift) it displays fine in the rift, but I believe the desktop window still shows black.

What isn't working well for me is launching from the Unreal Editor.  If I launch it will work with the rift once, and then won't work again.  After about 5 min or so, it will work once again.  I don't know why this is, but I suspect that something isn't releasing exclusive rift resources and that they are timing out after several minutes.  I banged my head against this problem until I stumbled upon the VR Preview option under Playback.

P.S. I'm a total Unreal Editor noob.  Just started getting into it this past weekend.

Another thought.  There is a setting in Oculus home that one needs to change to run other non-Oculus-Store VR apps.  If you haven't changed this setting that is likely the culprit.
