VR experience to improve ^^

Hey everybody! im a brand new member of VR oculus family ^^

today i put on my rift for the very first time and im very happy of the new perspective but have also some question/doubt that maybe u can help me to solve.
My rig have a 6700k @4.6 and a 1080ti runnin over 1.8, rocksolid for vr from what I understand.
Despite the happines and surprise that vr immediatly gives me  i find the whole experience a bit ruined by the (supposed) graphical problems that im experiencing.
Till the first look in, i noticed a strong blur on the objects, whites for most, and an impossibility to read anything in the screen ( the virtual clock, on my left wrist is short visible, especially date, totaly unreadable).
after trying with the physical adjust for the perfect position on the head, i move my attention to supersample and aws but...i cant see any differences even at 2x 😞
i saw with gpu tools and debug tool that the changes 'work', but in vr cant tell any differences ( 'home' room ,lucky tales, i didnt had time to test anything else)
im linked in direct mode to the vga via hmi, with just one more link to my main monitor via dp.
im not used to wear glasses and my eyes are pretty decent ^^ but i really suffer for those problems and for the 'mosquito net' effect (dunno how to explain with other words ^^) that looks like a 'layer of dirt' to my eyes despite lenses are perfectly clean.
I have to say that my main monitor is a 4k ips monitor...i even think that maybe i ve got used to that super resolution...but lm not so sure that can be the answer
Wich other tries can i do to improve my vr experience and to solve this problems that im hit?  im really thank to anyone who will give me a help ^^

ciao xD

Hey there, welcome to the community!
The resolution of the Rift is not 4K indeed, but it should definitely be enough to at least read that watch or the menu in Lucky's Tale. Super Sampling should also definitely improve the visual aspect, so if you don't see any difference, you may be having an issue.
- If the issue is software-related, there's a way to take a glimpse of it: you should take a screenshot of what you see in VR. With the Rift on, open Oculus Mirror.exe (can be found at C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-diagnostics) and see if the problem appears on your monitor. If it does, having a visual contact wil help us identify the problem ^^.
- If nothing appears, there is no issue software-wise, so maybe it comes from the hardware configuration. Did you try using another port?
- More likely, it seems it's just the resolution that's not enough for you. The leap from 4K to VR should indeed be quite a shock the first times xD. That said, it's something you can get used to. In games, as you move you notice less the the lack of graphical detail, which is also compensated with software tricks (like : as small text can't be read, the texts in games are made big).

Sadly, the mosquito effect (called Screendoor effect ^^) is here until new headsets get released. The new Samsung Odyssey+ supposedly solved that issue, so you should check it out!

thanks you!!
yes, i think i am a 'victim' of 4k resolution xD
there are no software-issue, as u said i test with mirro.exe and on my screen the image is perfectly clear, so probably i just have to get used of it.
i have ordered a dp to hmi adapter, so i will soon test with another port of my vga if something change, but again
i see the new Samsung odyssey+ that aim to solve exactly that mosquitoz xD i will keep an eye on it, since now is still not aviable here in Italy!
thx again for ure support !

I play flat in 4k and the rift is a step down in fidelity (obviously) but after a few minutes everything looks good, usually not noticing the 'difference' once the game has taken attention to the play rather than graphics.  That said, Rift graphics are plenty good 🙂
PC info: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X - Sapphire 7900XTX - 32GB DDR4 4000 - 3 NVMe + 3SATA SSD - Quest 2 & 3

You should see differences with and without supersampling made on debug tools (or third party tool like Oculus Tray Tool). As test try lowering it below 1.0 to be sure the setting apply (it should be really blurry E.g. 0.5). In any case if you can't even read the clock with or without SS then you have possibly some kind of hardware/software problem. Sound basic but I guess you removed the little transparent plastic protection (sorry, should ask) on each lens and set correctly your IPD (distance between eyes)?

thx you! yes, i tryed to modify ss on debug tools and tray tools, both works and affects the image ( in fact just the home room graphic, not the wirst clock...mm, cant understand that)
i removed the plastic protection ye, i doublecheck it too cause at certain point was so desperate xD and set the IPD to my best position.
i really feel like something doesnt work, i think noone can call what i see even close to hd at 720p...guys, its really bad^^

i will try with dp to hmi adapter...last hope, then i simply send it back for a new one...

You will have a sharp image only in the center of your lenses, so be careful to adjust the Rift accordingly. Due to the lenses the image will get less sharp towards the edges. More chromatic aberration, more smeared "godrays"/glare. So if you want to look at the watch you can't just glance down, you'll have to either look down with your head or bring the wrist otherwise to the center of your view. (And close to your face, due to the low resolution.)
I assume you have calibrated the lense distance and height of the headset?

Just in case, there might still be a problem with your specific model, of course.
