Hey there, @Brookekirby1399!

We recognize that you're having an error message pop up after you open VRChat. We appreciate your attempt to perform a headset reset, uninstall and reinstall the application, and attempt a different network connection. We understand that this is not what you were hoping for with your headset. We are more than happy to assist you with this issue. However, we do have a few questions for you; this helps us determine what other troubleshooting steps you can perform.

  • Is VRChat the only game in which you're experiencing this error message?
  • Is your headset and Meta Quest mobile app up to date with the newest software update?
  • Have you attempted to launch the app directly from your library or mobile device?
  • Are you using Air Link?
  • When you say that you are resetting your headset, do you mean a factory reset or a hard reboot?

We can't wait for your response. Thank you for your patience!

When I turn my WiFi on my oculus. It doesn’t have internet connection at all and my WiFi is used on everything else perfectly fine just my quest it isn’t. And I completely factory reset my headset. I’m not using airlink I use standalone

Thank you for informing us!

We understand that this is more of a network connection issue that you're experiencing. We want to make sure we give you all kinds of assistance; that way, you can go back to playing with friends online! We advise you to move closer to the router or switch to a network with a stronger signal. Attempt to disable the dual-band feature of the router so the headset can be on the same channel. This may prevent the headset from joining another channel, which can impact the Wi-Fi signal. Here we have a public article that can assist you with using Route This Helps App to help you diagnose your Wi-Fi issue.

  • Reboot the headset.
    1. Hold down the power button and volume down button for 30 seconds until you hear the boot-up sound
    2. If the boot-up sound is not heard:
      1. Hold the power and volume (-) button down simultaneously until the boot screen loads on your headset.
      2. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight "Boot Device" and press the power button.
      3. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Yes and press the power button.

  • Remove any supported third-party accessories that may affect communication (such as headset covers, etc.).
  • Try connecting to a different network.
  • Perform one last factory reset with cloud backup enabled

Please let us know if this helped you. We eagerly await your response!

Well it’s a network issue but my WiFi literally works on everything else but my oculus..

We understand that your network works perfectly with other devices except your Meta Quest device. However, we would like you to attempt the Route This Helps app to diagnose any Wi-Fi issues you may have without notice. We highly recommend checking to see if you are using any dual-band features for your network connectivity. Sometimes using a dual-band can prevent a perfect connection. Once you let us know what happens next and if any messages show up on the app, it helps us determine what other steps we can provide.

We hope to hear back from you!

no problems with WiFi at all

Thank you for the clarifying that for us.

How long has this error message been popping up? Has it been recently or ever since you've downloaded VRchat?

Was your headset always able to connect to the WiFi, or has this just started recently?

We look forward to hearing back from you with the following information: As well, thank you for your patience during this time.

It’s only been like a week since it’s been popping up. And it was on my WiFi then

Thank you again for that information. So we are going to go ahead and move forward with recommending you to send us a PM so we can collect some sensitive details.
