Vertical lines on lower part of display

I was playing a game on the Quest 2 and had to leave the room briefly. I paused the game and gently set the headset on the carpet. Came back 3 minutes later and now there is a band of vertical lines across the entirety of the bottom of the screen, kind of like a curved horizon. They don't appear when I first start the Quest 2 or when I launch an app, but when there is a full image, it is always there. I have tried a reboot and a factory reset to no avail. Any ideas?

Hello @digitalolive. We understand the feelings you had when you noticed these lines on your headset. We would love to assist you towards a possible resolution. To do this, we would like to ask you a few questions for a better idea of how to proceed.

  • Does the issue happen in the home environment or with 3rd-party software (like SteamVR)?
  • Does it happen right away or after longer sessions of use?
  • Has the product been dropped or neglected?
  • Does this happen in a single app or in general?

We appreciate your time and will be here ready to dive deeper into thoughts when you have the chance to get back to us.

Thanks for getting back to me.

It happens in all environments (home, settings, all apps). If the screen is black (on start up when the Meta logo is on or when I launch an app like Tripp) it is not there but when there is content on the full screen it is always there.

Also, just watched one of the Blue Marble Trilogy movies on Quest TV. It has a lot of black in it. If the scene has the earth on one side and the space station on the other side and a void between them, the lines only appear where there is content. not where the void between is.
