Video freezing in pinned windows when not focused on monitor

I often use Oculus dash to pin netflix or youtube videos inside my headset when playing on flight sims or using art apps. Some time within the past month or so, this appears to no longer work (perhaps since recent Oculus update 7 days ago)
Now I can still pin a window to my headset and the video still plays, but as soon as I focus another window on my desktop monitor, the video in the pinned window freezes after 3 seconds or so. The sound still plays in the background. The window will not unfreeze until I make it the focused window, which defeats the purpose of this feature.

I experience the very same issue. I tried to pin Twitch Chat chrome browser window inside of the VR world (Oculus Dash) in my view, so that I can see chat, while playing Euro Truck Simulator 2 in VR mode. But the moment I Alt+Tab into the game, to be able to play and control it, the browser window is out of focus and thus it freezes. Scrolling inside of it no longer works (text) with oculus controls joysticks and I never see when people wrote something to me. It worked in the past so it's truly annoying to lose this important feature now 😞

I did find a solution which is less than ideal but at least works for me.
It seems that the problem is caused by the fact that if the window you have pinned is obscured by another window on your desktop, then it will not update
If you make sure that the game or program you are using in VR is not maximized or fullscreen, but running in a window mode, and that it is not overlapping the window you have pinned, then it will work

Having Eurotruck running in windowed mode will not affect performance in VR. Another thing I found useful is using voice attack to perform a window function to select my browser window whenever I say open browser. That allows me to be able to put a cursor inside my pinned window whilst in game so I can click, type and interact with the window without having to take the headset off or alt and tab
