Visa payment method declined

Hey my oculus quest 2 won’t accept my Visa card for any games it’s worked in the past but now it won’t accept it can someone please help me. I’m

If anyone else come to this post, I had the same exact issue, tried everything until I found a reddit thread where meta support referred to auth.meta.com -> Other settings -> Payment Method. Here I could add a payment method without issue. Give it a try if you haven't.

Hey there @jemma_hancock. We hate to see that you're having issues adding a payment method. We'd love to help you get this sorted out. Hopefully, the following information will help you get yourself back to being able to purchase whatever your heart desires. 

Make sure your payment method is supported:

  • We accept:
    • Visa
    • American Express (AMEX)
    • Mastercard
    • PayPal
  • Here are the requirements:
    • The card must be associated with a billing address
    • The card must be able to have funds added/reloaded to it.
    • E-cards and virtual Mastercards should work, but most Gift cards do not have this option
    • There cannot be purchasing restrictions placed on the card
    • The network cannot have any purchase restrictions to prevent online payment
  • We also have some troubleshooting steps you can try as well, let us know if these help:
    • Check to see if your financial institution placed any restrictions
    • Try another network connection type or location
    • Restart the device or try another device
    • Try another payment method.
    • Try another web browser
    • Try purchasing with the mobile app

I recently deleted my payment (visa gift card) and I tried to put it back and it won’t let me, I made some purchases with it on my oculus before deleting it so I know it works, how can I add it back ?

I have the same problem. I removed my card as I was running into an error trying to make a purchase. I am unable to add a new card now though.

Yes, Yes, I do need help with this. I have been unable to purchase anything in over a week, including a quest 3 headset I was trying to purchase.

the card has been working for years. i'm not able to add any new payment method either, i've tried four cards. can't purchase within the app, which has been using paypal for years and suddenly it says "we noticed something unusual so we cancelled your purchase". happens in the headset, or on the quest web site when purchasing hardware. it's not about the payment method, it's about my account.
