I recently got a link cable for my quest 2 and I tried playing a few vr games, but my laptop kept restarting. My CPU and GPU temps are a little higher than normal, but I don't think they are high enough to overheating the laptop. I think the vr is draining too much power too fast, but I don't know how to fix that.

I haven’t had this happen, but it might be a power or heat issue. Even if temps look okay, VR can push things hard. Make sure you’re using the original charger, set to high performance mode, and try updating your drivers and BIOS. A cooling pad could help too!

@nn246 Nvidia 4xxx series GPUs are known to have transient spikes which can shut down a PC due to the Over Power Protection. I'm not sure, but this may be affecting your laptop as well. Perhaps you could limit the power the GPU is drawing using tools like MSI Afterburner to see if gives more stability during VR use.

Some laptop usb3 ports don’t supply enough power to run link. You may need to get a powered usb3 hub (wall powered). A powered link cable that uses your Q2 charger to help maintain headset battery , like the Kuject from Amazon, might also work. I use that cable with an old Alienware 17r4 laptop with my Q2 and it works fine.
Also,,obviously your laptop should be powered when playing and check your windows device manager usb ports properties and disable any power saving options.
Sorry, all I can think of right now. Good luck mate and cheers.
