Warning! PTC v.76 also updates to Android 14. You Can't drop back to v.74!!

Hey out there in Meta Quest land 😃

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up. This is not necessarily a bad thing BUT… if you are in the PTC on v.76 the version of Android on your Quest is updated to 14.

What this means is that if you drop from the PTC you will NOT return to the current public/stable release which is v.74. You will be stuck at the current version that you are on (v.76) and I don't believe you will get any updates until they release the public release version of v.76.

You only get updates to the PTC version if you are in the PTC. 

I have read in a few forums about people experiencing this. It is not "bad" because your Quest will continue to function. But you are in a "can't turn back" situation, so I just wanted to share what I had read.

If you find yourself out of the PTC and still at v.76 and want to continue to get the updates, just try to get back into the PTC.

I'm trying to leave the PTC. Does anyone know what the latest build number is for the public v76 or where to find it? I would like to avoid a factory reset if I can and I assume both PTC and public release are currently the same (.520).

There is no public v76. You will, most likely, drop back to public v.74.

I'm sorry, I had a brain freeze, my last comment was incorrect. You would stay at the same version you are on. There is no public version of v.76 and you can't drop back because the version of android was upgraded to 14.
