Weird bug in Meta Quest Link app

Today, I tried to test my Quest 3 to see if it would work with Air Link on. I used to own a Quest 1, and it worked just fine with the air link and could properly handle when the headset itself went offline/turned off.

However, that's not the case with my Quest 3. When I tried air link, it immediately lags BADLY (it freezes), sometimes it doesn't even connect with all the status are frozen in place even after I tried reconnecting my Quest 3. It still displayed as "Active" Even though my laptop is offline, and my Quest 3 is turned off, during which the entire Quest Link app was softlocked. I cannot restart it, any button that starts any process does not work, and I had to use task manager to force close it.

This only happens if I tried air link with my Quest 3... Maybe you guys know something about this bug?

Hi @PunchySeal6460

Thank you for sharing your experience with us! Our aim is for you to have the best experience when using your Meta Quest 3 and that starts with a stable connection when using AirLink.

Re-Pairing Air Link

  • Air Link issues can sometimes be resolved by completely disabling the functionality on the Quest. To ensure the process is completed properly, use these steps:
    1. In the Quest headset, navigate to the Settings menu
    2. Ensure "Air Link" is disabled/toggled off
    3. Restart both the Quest and the PC, and re-pair the Quest to the PC following the set-up steps in the public article, "Set up and connect Meta Quest Link and Air Link"
