I am using Quest 2 and today I had Noticed that whe i am trying to move the menu arround in my Home enivroment there is some weird jitter. and im not sure what to make of it.
its important to note that the jitter is not always there,
I made some epxpirmament in attempt to determinds what producing this and here is what I found:
I took some video recording to show the problem:
passthrough On

Passtrough Off

My physical Enviroment:

Also I Noticed that even when the jitter is not there the movment is not exactly smooth.
is there something wrong with my Headset?
Update: I tried to reset my device in order to see if it will make a difference. It didnt....
however i noticed that no metter were i physicaly sit or what Home enviroment im using the jittering conistantly appear whenever i the menu is being dragged in the direction of the mirror (the one shows you your avatar)
the Jitter again does not appear in other apps or games. so i guess its a software issue.
With that said there is still the world bumpiness whenever i move things arround with my hand

so im asking again, is this normal or is there something wrong with my device?

Hey, @Molotov! I heard back from our engineering teams, and it looks like they weren't able to recreate the jittering that you mentioned in your videos, and they haven't gotten reports of other users experiencing this. They recommend reaching out to support to review possible warranty options for your headset. You can either follow this link so you can email them, or you can send a private message to @MetaQuestSupport and they can get you in touch with them. Hope this info helps!

Hey there, @Molotov! Just want to say before anything, love the cat in the third video, lol 😺.
About your menu jittering, from what I can see, it could be the hand tracking lagging a bit whenever you move it around. Does the same thing happen whenever you move the menu with a controller instead?

A person who goes by the name of Margoth and carries tge tenants of the Sith in his signatures love my cat? I find it a bit suspicious. 😛
Anyway, yes, it also happens with the controller, but as I said at the update in the final part of the message, It seems to be mostly a software issue, so I care less about that. What I am worried about is the bumpiness I have when I'm moving things around.o
You can see it in the final link I posted.
Basically I'm trying to check if my VR is malfunctioning or working as expected

Hey now, we all have a soft side, lol.
I appreciate you letting me know. Can you tell me the full OS version of your headset and if you're signed up for the PTC?
05-26-2024 07:25 PM
version 65.0
and no i dont think i signed up for PTC

Thanks for letting me know. If you can, though, can you please share the full OS version of your headset. When you go to your settings and click on software update, it should look something like "65.X.X.XX.XXX.XXXXXXXXX." If you're able to take a screenshot, I can bring it up with the engineering teams and ask for their input on this.

How do I take a screen shot?
05-28-2024 03:58 AM
Never mind, i found it. I sent you a screen shot
i also took I also took another video capture from the menu just in order to eliminate the possibility of any problem coming from the game itself. I made sure to use a home environment that I know for a fact that is not going to cause the jittering I first spoke of. Based on what other people have told me, that seems to be normal but I would like to know what you think just to be sure.

I appreciate you sharing that screenshot! I'll send this info to the engineering teams and get their input on this. Once I hear back from them, I'll let you know what they've said as soon as I can.

Sure thanks!
