First of all, I have already factory reset my headset. I've tested Air Link with the original Link cable and charger to see if it's a cable issue. I've also tested just the headset by itself, plugging in the charger and waiting 10 minutes, and the issue still persisted.
It's not a PC issue; it's the headset. So let's get that out of the way. I have one of the first units, the Oculus Quest 64 GB version. Everything was working perfectly until recent firmware update.
The issue is that the headset is not reporting the correct battery percentage while charging after 10 minutes. It stays at 100%, preventing the low battery notifications at 20%, 15%, and 10% from appearing and stopping the headset from charging. Consequently, the headset dies on me while playing, which is frustrating with no way to tell when its gonna happen. I have tried everything, as you've seen, but it appears to be a bug with the firmware.
But the weird thing is, while the headset is off and charging, it will report the battery correctly. So I believe it's a simple fix. Currently, I am not financially able to upgrade my headset to Quest 3, and I would like to have my experience not be ruined by this issue.
In conclusion, after you plug in your charger while the headset is turned on, after 10 minutes, the headset will report that the battery is fully charged to 100%, no matter what, but it's actually not. Here are some logs of it happening:
I connected the charger around 01/05 21:05~ there is no log for that.

I've contacted support; they were nice and fast to respond, but it doesn't seem they can do anything for me since I'm in the EU, and replacement is only available for US residents.
Ive looked and i'm not the only one with this case they are multiple.
So that's why i am posting here, I would like this to reach the Meta Quest development and bug team in hopes of this issue being fixed in a future firmware update.
Thank you very much.

I would like to provide an update on this. I am still uncertain if it's a firmware or software issue or it's just the battery degrading over time...
Here is a really annoying "FIX": The battery jumps to 100% every 10 minutes. To recalibrate it, you will need to put the headset to sleep. Just press the power button, wait 10 seconds, then press it again. It will take a few seconds for the battery to recalibrate.
It would be nice if meta can do something for it to auto recalibrate because doing this every 10 minutes is annoying.

Hello there, @1os7! We understand wanting to make full use of the headset and having the battery not last long or provide notification is not ideal. We first recommend going through the Maximize the battery life of your Meta Quest headset support page to ensure the battery has the best charge possible. If it continues, so that we can look into the proper steps, we would want to know if the battery is no longer charging after a certain point, or once charged, if the battery is draining faster. This can help in our investigation into the charge of the battery.
We look forward to hearing back, and have a great day!

I have done every possible optimization and troubleshooting step. I have clearly stated and provided everything in great detail in the thread. Please do not reply to me with a generic support message and take some time to read it before trying to reply to this again.
Once fully charged to 100% while plugged in or using the link, after 10 minutes of the headset being on the battery incorrectly shows 100%. To recalibrate it, you need to press the power button, wait 10 seconds, and then press it again. You have to do this every 10 minutes. If you don't, you won't get any battery indicators or warnings when the battery is low, and the headset will eventually die without any notice.
I would like for this to be resolved.
Thank you @MetaQuestSupport

I guess I misread your initial post. Wasn't the actual problem stemming from when you tried to charge the device from almost dead? What I mean is didn't you say it was an issue because it would be at 10% but then suddenly jump to 100% which would obviously mean the device didn't actually charge but now thinks it did so it stops charging altogether? So basically you would pick up your headset to use it with (in reality) a 10% battery charge and not the 100% the device believed it was at, which of course would cause you to quit because 10% doesn't leave much time to play before it's dead again. I'm really asking because I think after that terrible reply before your last post, your follow up didn't really address the issue you were having and might be confusing if looked at as the problem.

Actually I see where I myself misunderstood but I get what you were saying now. Clearly it has nothing to do with anything that battery saving strategies being implemented would be a logical solution either way.

Where have I stated that I am charging the headset from almost dead? When the headset is off, the battery charges and reports correctly. However, when it’s on while you are playing and charging, while the battery depletes after 10 minutes of the headset being on it will incorrectly report 100% preventing it from charging. If you don't switch it off and on, and wait 10 seconds to recalibrate, you won't get any battery indicators or warnings when the battery is low, and the headset will eventually die without any notice. This happens every 10 minutes!!!
I'm just really frustrated that support isn't really reading and providing generic support messages.

Thanks for getting back to us regarding the battery charge that is displayed. With the troubleshooting steps having been done, including the factory reset, we would want to check how long the battery lasts once it is fully charged. Please provide how long the battery does last when fully charged and the headset is actively in use. We look forward to hearing back, and have a great day!

The battery lasts around 4 hours if you do not recalibrate it while charging and eventually headset dies without any warnings of the battery being low.
it will last around 8 hours, If you recalibrate it every 10 minutes by switching it on and off to report the battery correctly. However, this is very annoying and breaks immersion.
The battery just reports incorrectly 100% after 10 minutes of headset being on and charging leading to it not charging at all.
