Headset seems to work fine stand-alone. I use the headset with IRacing, and often (not always) get a translucent horizontal stripe across the screen after about 15 minutes or so. It doesn't feel like the headset is overheating. This doesn't show up on the screen mirror on PC, or if I "mirror" with the debug tool. Is this likely a failing display or is there somewhere else I should look?

Is it a single white stripe across the bottom third of the screen? If so, this may be of interest.

I have no words, appreciate you so much. I have this problem for years since I buy 3070, and now my suffering ends. Legend, man of the year for me!

I am now able to use the headset with DX12 with maximum settings and no artifact, this is truly a great fix. Thank you to whomever found it.

Can someone please explain how/where to apply that command fix?
Im here because a friend installed a 3050 into her PC and is having the same issue with roughly 1/3 of the right lens having grey. And well, she's no good with PCs to say the least and will NOT be able to try a fix herself without help. But since I don't own a Quest 2 headset, I got no idea how to help her as I got no idea how or where these commands go and obviously can't toy around with her PC either to figure it out. And googling this isn't of much help either thanks to reddit going private, searching "commands" leading to Skyrim posts, and finding a bunch more stuff not related to the Quest 2 at all.
So if anyone can please post some kind of tutorial to how to use commands we'd both be very grateful.

Open CMD.EXE as administrator and add the following:
reg add "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Oculus\RemoteHeadset" /v "numSlices" /t REG_DWORD /d "1" /f
Press enter and away you go!

Maybe I find the reason of problem. I fix white stripe issue with your solution and everything works perfect. Next day my new riser cable arrived. I use riser cable to connect my gpu to mb. Previous riser was pci-e 3.0 and new one is 4.0. So I decided to put encoding slices back to 5. I play for 2 days(over link, h.264, 500Mbps) and have no glitches anymore. So maybe the reason in pci-e mode, and maybe someone can check and confirm it.

Yeah, I kind of forgot about the CMD.exe on the PC itself. Assumed it was something that needed done within the headset itself or some program that connected the headset to her PC. Thank you.
Now we just gotta figure out her FPS issues. It's not likely her PC as when streamed over discrod her VRChat gameplay looked fine. But she said that it's "lagging" on her headset. Might be worth trying different values for numSlices. At least till she can afford a better router for airlink or just replace the Quest 2 with something else altogether.
