Headset seems to work fine stand-alone. I use the headset with IRacing, and often (not always) get a translucent horizontal stripe across the screen after about 15 minutes or so. It doesn't feel like the headset is overheating. This doesn't show up on the screen mirror on PC, or if I "mirror" with the debug tool. Is this likely a failing display or is there somewhere else I should look?

FYI, everything right now has been tested, hardware, software, system, even uninstalling steamvr (link).
Any news from an official Oculus support about any progress ?

I have the same problem more and more often, just got it on Star Wars Squadron using Quest 2 with oculus link, native oculus API (no steamVR)

interesting. would it be safe to assume SteamVR has nothing to do with the issue? 🤔

Nothing to do with it. I have uninstalled Steam VR and it still happens.

100% sure it have nothing to do with Steam VR.
I've a new computer since April this year, I've never installed Steam VR or any VR game in steam which require Steam VR to run, and I've the issue after a few minutes of gaming each time I'm playing Drit Rallye 2.0.
I'm also playing ACC, FS2020 and Star Wars Squadron, and I've never had this issue if these games, strange because as you can see, some other players have this issue on these games.

Hi everyone! Don't get too excited yet, but I THINK I found the solution.
First of all I was having the same problem as you, and I tried everything... Reinstalling applications, changing cable, changing USB ports, different graphics settings, changing bitrate... But no matter what I did, I would always get the white stripe in the bottom half of the display in the first 10 minutes of gameplay, in any game while using link, both on steamVR and oculus.
My setup: Ryzen 5 3600, RTX 3070, 16 GB RAM
Now the solution: As I saw that a lot of people started to have this problem with new version of oculus software, I thought it must be something wrong with new versions. So I downloaded v24 of oculus software. Thnx to guy ''huliqan'' from this post https://forums.oculusvr.com/t5/Oculus-Rift-S-and-Rift/v25-PTC-PC-Software-Release-Notes/m-p/848372/h...
What I did:
1) Delete Oculus tray tool if you have it (i don't know if it matters, but that's what i did)
2) Download https://drive.google.com/file/d/1H_Sgam3hVAtDFPajTu7ZcpUqSrEh681D/view?usp=sharing
3) Stop OVRService - (ctrl+alt+delete -> Task manager -> find OVRService -> right click Stop
4) Go to C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support, and rename folder Support to Support-backup or something
5) Export downloaded Support folder to C:\Program Files\Oculus\
6) Start OVRService
7) Create text file named ''tmp'' and ''Staging'' in C:\Program Files\Oculus\, then enable file extensions and delete .txt extension from both files
😎 Run oculus link, set up your preferred resolution, and test your games.
Last night I tested ETS2, Skyrim VR, Assetto corsa, Dirt Rally, DCS world, for about 3 hours and the white stripe never appeared, and I have even better performance than with the last update!!!
BTW there are 2 problems in this version: I don't have sound from my Quest 2, just some kind of click every second, so I'm forced to mute Quest and use Bluetooth headphones. Second problem is that you can't use Air Link, because I think it didn't exist in v24.
So I hooooope that solved the problem and hope that will solve it for you too, because I know how frustrating it is.
Please test some games and let me know if this helped you, so we can say that we have some kind of fix.
If this helps you, please share it to other people that have the same problem and keep making tickets, because this is not really a solution. We need to make Oculus fix this problem, because apparently the problem is in Oculus software update.
Good luck!

Hi SerHyo, thanks for posting this!
From an Oculus support perspective, I think its really important that this is identified as a workaround rather than a fix or a solution, so that the development team keep this on their radar for a fix.
That said, it looks like the most promising approach so far, as it will take the systems back to a point before the update that broke the link. I am hopeful it will get us up and running for the types of games many in this post want to play!
So thank you for this, and for such a thorough writeup - I'll be trying this over the weekend and will report back. 🙂
I promised a poem for meaningful fixes, but you get one too for a strong and feasible workaround!
"There once was a legend called SerHyo,
Whose Quest 2, when gaming, went err, no.
They saw the white bar,
and then like a star
rolled back the crap code like a pro, yo!"
🙂

im on 2080ti and having same issues. seems to be related to RTX cards in general

Do you have any supportcase with oculus? Someone should point this thing out.. When i contacted them the told me the issue was on the steam side and told me to make a support request to them. But steam say they do not officially support the quest. Only rift..
