White horizontal stripe across screen while using link

Headset seems to work fine stand-alone.  I use the headset with IRacing, and often (not always) get a translucent horizontal stripe across the screen after about 15 minutes or so.  It doesn't feel like the headset is overheating.  This doesn't show up on the screen mirror on PC, or if I "mirror" with the debug tool.  Is this likely a failing display or is there somewhere else I should look?

Can confirm that this fix did work. The white bar has been gone for me. Thank you very much for the guide and work you did.

One thing I am running into is that I have noticed a drop in resolution quality. I tried cranking my resolution in both the Oculus app and Steam VR, but it hasn't worked. Have you noticed anything like this? If so, do you know a fix?

Thank you again!

Mine seems to be fine if your using link cable make sure it's been giving the correct priority as I did notice that when I reset everything I have to enable this I think because I have a program called killer on the laptop. It's designed to prioritise different drivers many to get the maximum performance for a game that had to reset that default as I think I was choking the link cable in a sense it has to be a kind of an equal balance also go into oculus debug tools And check settings https://youtu.be/8xKpAHXtXV4 I sent you this as there's a few tweaks in there that may help .

Just use Oculus Tray Tool, and set it accordingly to your hardware. I have ryzen 5 3600 with rtx 3070 and 16gb RAM. I personally use rtx 2080ti preset with 1.3 - 1.5 super sampling depending on the game, and 45hz ASW mode for racing and flight sims.

I was trying out Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 in VR for the first time the other day and after flipping back and forth between the game and menu a few times I started getting the white bar. First thing I did was go into the Oculus Debug Tool (make sure to set it to run as administrator), disabled the encoder dynamic bitrate and disabled (PC) Asynchronous Spacewarp. I also went into the official Oculus app (required for the Link Cable to work) going under device settings for the headset, setting the refresh rate to 90Hz, disabling Automatic resolution and setting it to 1.0x. So far, this seems to be working. There was also an Oculus Quest 2 update for the headset available yesterday so I installed that too, don't know if that might make a difference. Time will tell. I'll tell you one thing though, if you haven't installed the Open XR Toolkit, you need to try it. I don't know if it was undated the headset or the Open XR Toolkit, but my visual clarity has seemed to improve a lot, along with the performance. Also, as an alternative to Steam VR, try the OpenComposite program instead, seems to have made a considerable performance difference over SteamVR and many games actually launch now instead of hanging up when trying to launch through SteamVR.

Ok ignore my last post. I figured out the resolution issue. My problem now is that my audio doesn't work. I know that the instructions were meant to bypass this, but it's not working for me even though I followed everything correctly.

Any ideas?

Hi . I have a problem with the white horizontal stripe in my Oculus Quest 2.
And I got it right when I followed Fyte's tips on page 56.
But now a while ago I started to lose tracking Now when I tried to reinstall everything again then I had version 38.0.0 .... in the app on PC.
did as Fyte wrote then I have Oculus app version 24.0.042393.
But then it will not find my headset.

Checked which version I have in the headset: 39.0.088.336.363807235. then it says driver version: 39.0.0100.369.363650567.

Tried to reinstall the pc app, change to beta, then I got 39.0.0 ... Then the headset was found but then White horizontal stripe came back almost immediately. And there is only 72Hz nothing else to choose from.

Anyone have any tips?

Is it possible to get an older version back in the headset?

Ignore my post, I'm still having the problem after everything I've tried.

When is Oculus/Meta going to do something about this?  Now my headset is flickering as well and has a lot of artifacts.  It works perfectly using Virtual Desktop so it's not a hardware issue.  I'm afraid though that Oculus Support will just want to replace it as that's their go to when their script doesn't solve the issue.  I don't want a refurbished headset if there's nothing wrong with mine. I'm so disappointed with Oculus and I'm looking forward to my next headset, which will not be a Quest.  For now I'll use Virtual Desktop.  It's pretty sad when third party software works better than Oculue's own software.

After using the OG vive for many years i finally did upgrade to a Oculus Quest 2 + Oculus Link-cable.
I was really looking forward to play PCVR in good resolution and with better controllers. My dissapointment was huge when this horizontal stripe problem occured and after some searching i found out that there is really nothing i can do to fix it.

I can't use airlink because i can't get a cable from my router to my PC so here i am still playing on my vive..
Such a waste.

I can't believe they have done nothing about this. A year and a half and nothing.
