White horizontal stripe across screen while using link

Level 2
Headset seems to work fine stand-alone.  I use the headset with IRacing, and often (not always) get a translucent horizontal stripe across the screen after about 15 minutes or so.  It doesn't feel like the headset is overheating.  This doesn't show up on the screen mirror on PC, or if I "mirror" with the debug tool.  Is this likely a failing display or is there somewhere else I should look?

I use MSI Afterburner it has that monitoring tab where you can see everything you just need to install it and mess around a bit with it...

(first go to settings, user interface and select the MSI dragon skin cause the one it ships with is **bleep**e)

Then click detach here:

And then you'll have this great panel where you can see everything:

(in blue the two most important the GPU usage (to know how much headroom you have...) and framerate...

This thing monitor continuously so you can consult it while alt-tab of your game or if you have 2 monitors (like me) you can have it set somewhere on your second monitor...

thats great, but somehow too small to see it as overlay in the games.. I was more thinking of the likes of FSPVR program.. simple press of button in game and I see the FPS..

Well like I said I have 2 desktop monitors so my second monitor is displaying the monitoring window and once detached you can resize it...and I believe you can change the text font and size in the options...

I dont know of any programs that could inject a 3rd overlay over VR games (because the oculus layer is an overlay by itself) in the debug tool you can activate the oculus monitoring app for performance but its too big to game while using...if you find one make sure let me know OK cause it would be ideal id like to have one too...

OCULUS TEAM: btw this is ridiculous ive been using since the CV1 and the debug tool why is still a "secret tool" why not make some options part of the sofware HAVING a performance monitor that could stay small top right and show just FPS and GPU usage?? And some settings are VITAL in there such as but not limited to: link sharpening *should be on by default BTW) Encode bithrate and width...your default settings are DISGUSTING i remember launching it the first time it looked worse than my rift S...this should be cleared up and made user friendly and common knowledge...users are out there gaming with **bleep** images instead of seeing the true beauty of clear sharp images in their quest 2....its just plain sad really.

yeah, all good. I just did the Nvidia Experience Performance overlay with Advance settings so with ALT+R I can display all nicely to cross check in each game. Works well.  Yes, the Debug tool is garbage, all settings I did , are all back to default on new start up, over it changing it every time I hook up the cable to the PC and have to re-do all settings. rubbish.

I am very happy to say that I think I may of found the culprit. I went into the oculus debug tool and reset everything I changed back to 0 or default or off or disabled. I also disabled link sharpening then restarted oculus services in the services section at the top of the oculus debug tool. And I have now been playing Kayak VR Mirage for a good hour with no annoying white transparent band 😁

really hope your answer will solve the issue, im overclocking my 3070ti with the official app, just a bit tho, got this white stripe only when I play Dirt Rally 2.0

exactly the same issue, only when im playing Dirt Rally 2.0 and it happens randomly on ACC.

Lets just acknowledge the Quest 2 is a 'wannabe' PCVR headset - nice but not polished with issues which they dont care to address.  It creates the white bar super random. I can play for hours with Vorpx 3D games with no problem, but same game in Virtual Desktop brings either instant crash, loop loading or the white stripe which in nearly all cases for me seems to be a drop in frame rate, stutter, some high graphic settings in the game triggering it or a mix of all. Who knows. But it definitely works better with some programs then others.  from my experience Steams Virtual Desktop is having the most issues creating this white bar. I run the 3080Ti.

i followed every step and it seemed to have worked fine up until when i click link on my quest it just refuses and says

and nothing happens, if you happen to have a discord i would appreciate any tips or updated way to fix this, my discord is PatrickM#6549
