I'm on my second quest 3 and both have had white sparkly artifacts in home environment, particularly while using browser and also sometimes in games and at their worst in Amazon Prime app. Apparently this has been an issue for many quest 3 owners for a year and hasn't been resolved. I've tried everything suggested on the numerous threads including factory resets, brightness/guardian/lighting/play area changes but makes no difference. Why has Meta not solved this issue? Meta support? It totally destroys the immersion. I'm waiting a few weeks to see if meta replies to this or explains what is being done and then will probably have to return the headset if it isnt resolved. Shame because its otherwise a great headset. Will be interested to see if 3s has same problems?

Hey there,
Thanks for posting we're happy to have you in the community forums 😀
I completely understand how your display issue would disrupt your experience while trying to be immersed.
I would recommend sending a direct message to Meta support so that they may offer more in depth assistance and possibly go through your options of a return if the issue proves persistent.
They will do their very best to provide you with a resolution to your situation as quick as possible.

@dafponk @I haven’t seen any sparkles since a couple of updates ago with my Q3. Maybe check your WiFi connection and make sure you’re not getting any Bluetooth interference from things like BT speakers. Otherwise work with meta support.

Hi, thanks for the post and advice but I came on here because I didn't get any joy from Meta support other than to be told that I needed to restart the headset and that it was most likely a dead pixel, and had I dropped the head set (which one - all three brand new headsets?). So if i'm sounding impatient or annoyed it's because I am. They did offer me a refurbished replacement. I've had the device for 1 day and can return it to my local store - I've already returned two with the same issue. I've tried everything and was hoping someone in Meta support would explain why it's happening, rather than just offer me a refursbished replacement when I specifically said I could return it myself locally. Anyway.........

THanks - I have spoken to Meta support and had no joy. No bluetooth devices or wireless speakers to interfere. Wifi connection is fine and works well for my Quest 2. Looks like another return and hope I have more luck with the Quest 4 in 2026?

I completely understand your sentiment of wanting to have this issue fixed within a reasonable time frame.
A possible cause would be sun damage If your headset is left fairly close to a window for instance it can sometimes cause display issues to occur.
Another possibility is a overheating issue with the GPU.
Have you tried lowering your refresh rate? you can do so in the headset by going to settings -> System -> Display may be worth a try.
Unfortunately other than that I do not have many more options to recommend other than a return.
Your patience in this process is massively appreciated. I hope your situation turns around and you are able to enjoy the Quest VR experience hassle free in the future.

@dafponk While I don't see any sparkles with my Q3 in home, browser, or games, I did notice a few once in a while today with Amazon Prime Video app. Not really too bad, but a bit annoying in dark scenes. This problem seemed to go away with v68 but now has appeared again with v69. I have filed a bug report so hopefully final v71 will fix this again. Cheers.

They have all been brand new headsets, and no i dont leave them in direct sunlight. Ive had vr headsets for a long time so know how to look after them. Not a heat issue, they happen on start up.
