White translucent bar on the lower third of the displays

Usually after a few minutes of play, and ONLY using link (if its over wireless this does not happen), I get a white translucent bar on the lower third. It is stronger on the right eye, and gets stronger with time.

Tried with multiple cables, same issue.
Tried linking with the PC over wireless, no issue.

Tried lowering the refresh to 72hz, helped a little - bar takes longer to display.

Tried lowering game upscaling to 100% (was at 150%), helped a little, bar takes longer to display.

Tried upping the game upscaling to 200%, and set it at 120hz, bar appears almost immediatly.

Any help? This seems to be software related (only appears in game(s), not on the oculus home or the link home, and ONLY using cabled link.

It's been reported for years, sadly. Nobody has found a fix and support don't even comment in the other big thread about it on here. Meta can't / won't fix it and pretend it doesn't exist. Airlink or Virtual Desktop is the only solution if you are affected.

Hello there, @Cagerontwowheels! We see that you are having trouble with your headset showing a white bar on your display. We know how much of an inconvenience this can be when wanting to have a great VR experience, and we're happy to look into this with you!

  • Could you please provide a picture or video of what you are seeing on your headset when using it?
  • Have you tried rebooting your headset? To do so, please follow this link.
  • If rebooting your headset did not resolve this issue, we recommend factory resetting your device.
    • Before performing a reset, please follow this link on using the Cloud Backup for your device so you can check to see what data you can save on your device.
    • To perform a factory reset on your device:
      1. Turn off your headset.
      2. Hold the power and volume (-) button on your headset down simultaneously until the boot screen loads on your headset.
      3. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Factory Reset and press the power button.
      4. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Yes and press the power button.

If you have done this and are still seeing a white bar on your device, we will need to look into this further on our support page. Once there, we will have more tools available to assist you!
