Hi All, Can someone please explain why we are required to add a payment method in order to purchase Items in the Meta Quest Store? I have never been comfortable with allowing online stores to keep my payment info on their servers just to make the transaction a little quicker/smoother. Take Steam for example. I have always had the option to enter my details at purchase and elect to not save those details online. I am happy to enter those details manually for each and every purchase. It is much safer that way. In recent times it has been proven that large corporations cannot keep that data safe. 2022 Optus Data Breach for example.
Hey there, @william.mclennan! Thanks for reaching out. Ultimately as it stands the system does require you to save your payment method. You can post in the Ideas forum about this. The developers monitor posts and interactions from users there. Outside of that you can add your payment method, make a purchase then remove it. Please let us know if you have any additional questions or challenges!
