Wifi keeps disconnecting on Meta Quest 3

Hello there!

So I have a Meta Quest 3 for about a year now, and lately it refuses to connect to my home wifi (which always used to work). I searched all over google but nothing worked so far.

What I've noticed:

The Quest can connect to other networks (such as my phone)

The wifi in question keeps saying either "Connected" for a few seconds then switching to "Saved" or "Connected to device/Can't provide internet"

The wifi switches from 2,4ghz to 5ghz then back to 2,4ghz and so on everytime it reconnects, same with the wifi type (from 5 to 6)

What I've tried:

Factory reseting

Switching my wifi to only 5ghz instead of both (had no affect, it kept switching either way)

Using device MAC instead of randomized MAC

Restarting my router

Not using AX (It somehow still said that the wifi type was wifi 6)

Any help is appreciated!

Vielen Dank nochmals! Ich dachte schon ich müsste mir nen neuen Router kaufen!

Hi there, is this solution still working for you? I have exact same problem when I upgraded my router but changing the device IP did not work for me like the solution says .

I tried all the other listed troubleshooting but nothing is working

Well the problem stopped happening after a few weeks so I cant really say if the fix still works. Are you sure you changed the IP of your router?

Yes definitely the router LAN IP I am changing in the router settings. did you do this as well as split your 5g / 2.4g signals into two SSID's?

  • Nope, they only thing i did was to change the XXX.XXX.0.1 to XXX.XXX.21.1 , the problem happened 3 times in total and each time i simply changed the second last number to for example 1 or 2.

Okay, I changed my Router from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.21.1 and 192.168.20.1 and neither worked, I see the Quest 3 picking up the new IP address for the Router and I can see it assigning itself its own IP within the range.

Strange though as I know its the same issue the behavior is exactly as you described "Connected" to "Saved" every few seconds
