Xbox elite series 2 over usb c issues on quest 3

Uniform300
Honored Guest

I have the elite series 2(FWV: 5.17.3202.0 as the date of the post) and just yesterday tried to connect it to my quest 3(version 60) to play some Hogwarts legacy over virtual desktop and was working ok over Bluetooth but latency was bad a lot of walking in a direction when no longer pushing the stick that way(causes motion sickness so this a no go). I tried it with the controller connected direct to the pc via the windows wireless USB dongle and it worked fine no latency, but I don't want to be always in line of sight of the dongle(yes even Xbox support says the dongle needs line sight to the controller to not random disconnect) and I don't own Hogwarts on anything other then pc. so I thought I could try to use the USB-c to USB-c cable that came with the quest 3(meta say my controller is supported via bt and usb here:Xbox Cloud Gaming on Meta Quest | Meta Store) and it connected but I have two main issues with it:

1. the quest 3 charges the controller over the usb c cable and nothing pops up asking me how I want the device to act when connected so I can't turn it off and it halfs the battery life of the quest 3

2. the controller is detected but not all axis/buttons work at all or if they do work they don't do what they are suppose too and it does this in virtual desktop and in the quest 3 internet browser if I use a gamepad tester.

So my question is how can I I fix both issues

Edit: I contacted support thru there website chat shortly after posting this and they first try to say "it is an issue with my elite series 2 controller so contact xbox" I then responded with that "the fact beside latency it works fine thru bt and on my phone/pc wired like normal so that tells me that is wired gamepad support on the quest 3 side" they said "let me clarify with the internal team" but I got disconnected(due to power lost) before they got back to me so I will try again later(unless they respond here while I wait for my power to come back) as I need to charge my quest 3 again due to testing.

Hey @Uniform300! We were just wanting to know if what we suggested have worked out for you!

Dear Communtiy manager, according to your website support page, my xbox controller(listed in op) is supported to connect to the quest 3 as a input device for apps that support it which virtual desktop(a remote desktop that streams ur desktop to ur quest3 and any input from controllers connected to the quest3 back to the pc to play non vr games in vr on a floating desktop in a vr environment) does support it. Therefore direct connection from the controller to the pc is not necessary. Pls do more research before replying with a fix to someones problem. And yes I did all troubleshooting that meta support emailed me including call microsoft and they told me that the quest 3 not sending games the right buttons is not my controller but the quest 3 operating system not reading the controllers input correctly when connected via usb to the quest3

Thank you for your swift response and for providing detailed troubleshooting research on the issue. If you haven't already attempted repairing the Xbox controller, or if available, try a different controller to verify the Quest 3 headset operating system is not correctly responding to selected button input. Besides the Hogwarts game, does the problem occur with any other Xbox cloud gaming title? We're looking forward to speaking with you soon. Have a wonderful rest of your day!

Hi, I have the same issue with XBX Controller Series2but, but with the Xbox cloud app inside Quest 3. I'm IT engineer and did the proper troubleshooting, I think is an issue with the Quest 3 OS, probably a driver.

Hey there @DFelCrow! Thanks for reaching out! Have you tried plugging in the controller to the headset? If so, did that change any latency issues you were experiencing?
