airlink somewhat un-smooth

I've noticed that in air link I have very bad ''performance'', what I mean is that occasionally (like each 5–7 seconds) my air link will have 5-6 micro-stutters or only about 1-2. I have tried not disabling ASW, but that leaded to no good. I've also noticed that the majority of the time it only happens when I jump in games or play gorilla tag ! My rtx 3060, 64gb and i5 12400f has no problem running almost any games in medium to high settings with my resolution of 3712 x 1888 (which is way lower than the recommended one because I want more play time since the resolution is closer to my meta quest 3s's), but weirdly it still happens. So I am wondering if that would be a connection issue (I have an Ethernet cable) and need to buy a cable to be able to play properly without these micro-stutters or if it is an air link bug, if so, I would like help on that

Hey kid.the.kid,

We totally understand! If it wouldn't be convenient in your situation to disable Dual-Band, we'd recommend trying to connect via Link Cable.

At the very least, if that works without any issues, it'll confirm that the problem was most likely with your connection!

You can check out our official Link Cable here.

Hey kid.the.kid,

Thanks for the update! Sounds good.

In the meantime, you can follow the instructions here to use the RouteThisHelps app to diagnose any potential network issues.

If the issue is only occurring in a specific app e.g. Gorilla Tag, we would recommend submitting a bug report as there could be an error on the monke-related side of things.

Hey there!

Thanks for reaching out. We can understand that stutters using Air Link can be frustrating when all you want to do is swing about freely like a monkey!

The first thing that we'd recommend is if you have a Dual-Band (2.4 GHz or 5.0 GHz) router is disabling the Dual-Band feature. This will stop the headset trying to reconnect across the two different bands which can lead to stutters. If you are unsure if your router is Dual-Band or are unsure how to disable this then we'd recommend reaching out to your router provider.

Next, please try unpairing/disabling Air Link and then pairing/enabling this again. You can do this by opening your setting on your headset > Select the Link option > Toggle off the Air Link option > Follow the steps here to set-up Air Link.

Then please try force restarting the headset, restarting your PC and the router. If you notice no change, and if possible, please try connecting to a different Wi-Fi network to test if you also experience the issues with it too. A useful tool you can use from your Quest headset's browser to see if you're experiencing connection issues is Speedtest by Ookla.

If the issue persists, please reach out to us via DMs and we'll be happy to look into this further. To do this, please select our name to get to our profile page, or click here. Next, click "Send a Message" to privately message us! Please remember, you must be signed into the community first to send us a private message.

Hope this helps!

Thank you for your fast reply, really appreciate that,

but my dad is awful with technology, and well he gets worried that I might f-up something even tho I tell him I know what I am doing, so do you think buying the ROG Rapture GT-AXE16000 router from Asus for my self would fix the issue if I disable dual-band ? Or would I need a link cable for the issue to stop since it doesn't rely on internet ?

Hey kid.the.kid,

We're just checking in to ask if you still need any help with your PCVR issues?

If so, we're right here to help.

Well, I am still having issues with micro-stutters, but except that, no. I'll try to convince my dad to let me disable dual-band and if that doesn't work I'll get a cable.

And I don't think it is an internet issue tho, since it really only happens on gorilla tag or when I jump in-game. So maybe a setting to change somewhere could resolve the issue, well, I think
