(brand new paper weight)New quest 2 + first ever meta account, will not pair with app

Hi to the community.

First of is the fact a father is on here with such an insanely stupid issue after the product has been out 2+ years shows how poorly meta/oculus are treating there customers that have bought new from trusted retailers still sealed  and can not get any further than inputting your wi fi and pair your fresh never used account to the headset. 

OMG why is there no fall back option in the headset to just use your email and password and pull the account of your servers to the device.

The initial tears of happiness my son had when opening this gift for Christmas disappeared within the hour, and proceed to watch his dad stress an cus as he web searches to find the rabbit hole of pairing accounts to quest 2's. ive now since xmas day was runined learned about< blue tooth cache, first account to pair is on;y one to pair after ect, android debug, logging in your account to clear active sessions and check the device page, I understand 2nd hand quests and quests that have all ready paired account and then sit un used for many months to a year and then run into issues but QUOTE band new sealed plus fresh meta account and my son cant even click a menu or settings tab on the headset.

last bit of rant and on to tech issue. Mark i hope you had a good christmas because you sure made my sons one to forget, o we never will the 5 digit code is stuck in my meta verse now, i wake up with it running in my head, i think i may becoming the mad hatter.

ok so.

iv done it all by self learnt and then asked support and ran through same check list again, only thing they added i had not tried was to log in to account and check active sessions and devices

ive tried iphone 5 and 6 at current maybe get chance to try my sisters huwaie and her fellas more update model of iphone.

oculus developer software and tried usb cable and syncing on that, i get the device id to click on but sits trying for ever or after few mins gives red error bar at top. some posted that they had luck using this method but not this headset.

ADB will start a sideload of v47 and tried 2 other versions of older firmware but my adb attempts start and climb to 50% in cmd window and just under half on progress bar in headset. the web guides show the dameon port thing shows on web wen they check devices but i only see that output when i use the kill-server start-server. thought that maybe issue so learnt the start command and then ran devices an sideload but it just gives the id or sideload progress there is no output about the server port start when i start the above commands.

so no pairing and no luck at firmware hopping to see if its an issue.

Any advice on what try before my son and I create a video for youtube showing us destroying this £350 paper weight of dreams of a different universe for my son, Cough its on RMA with website an arrange pick some time next week, but that leaves me with 2 options Risk another brand new unboxed quest, PICO 4 with currently poor game line up and apps hence i choice the quest for the sons benefit

P.s i got few support reply's pretty responsive with same guides as web and yesterday got ticket back from different member of staff saying the other guy off so i will be dealing with you then  goes on to say we need time to look into this and give you feedback and options blah blah, sounds like we ran are script to end and now its pass the guy around and delay with that juicy auto script about looking into and giving updates 

sorry for poor writing and strain on your brain reading this but am warehouse worker that slaved on minimum wage to pass wealth to this company, i dont have much free time to attend to stuff like whats happing to me with this as i work extra hours on top of contracted 40 hours, where meta/oculus just land an unusable brick on children and adults like the grinch and big up there turn over to shareholders

to add on the pairing issue, factory reset, clear active sessions, re install app, cant clear bluetooth cache as iphone  5 , 6 used do not show the (i) icon next to meta quest 2 in menu an so can not access the forget option, the bluetooth only shows wen app is active trying to pair.

The app does auto detect the code if i do factory re set and try to pair before getting to the wifi setup, i put the password in fast why the app sits on auto detect code in hope it works but app does the try again error.

If i enter the code manually it will try for ages and then return generic try again error message in to variants 1 shortan sweet an sometimes the long one with things to try. but if i enter wrong code the app soon reports back no device with code found message.

I'm not 100% certain but I also have this problem, I think it has to do with the phone model, a lot of people that are having this problem have older iPhones such as the iPhone 6s (and so do I), apparently using a newer phone would work
