IF YOU CAN'T FIND THE REGISTRY THAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING TO CHANGE:
I found that if you first open and set up Windows Mixed Reality, then the registry entry magically appears! So try that! And if you're having trouble getting Windows Mixed Reality set up, say because you can't connect your headset, you can try doing what they say here to set it up in developer mode: Using the Windows Mixed Reality simulator - Mixed Reality | Microsoft Learn Good luck!

can you explain to me how you did that?

This doesn't do anything as the button changes nothing. Any way else to try and fix?

Hi there, I am facing the same exact problem. I can't seem to 'turn on' the 'Set Oculus as active' on my Oculus app. I have done my best to follow step-by-step the protocol you listed earlier on this post, however, things still seem to not work. My GPU is up to date, I have repaired my Oculus app for Quest 2. Not sure how to get PC VR working and would really appreciate some help. 😕

I just took a look at that registry value and found that my 64 bit system was using the Oculus runtime, but it was set to use the 32 bit runtime by default. I'll be editing that registry to use the 64 bit version instead. Thank you!
For anyone reading: running a 32 bit version of a program on your 64 bit processor can be slower than if you just use the 64 bit version. That's why I'm changing it.
