can't use capture cards / no permissions

Hi all,

I bought a capture card by Guermok, which many blogs recommended and also friends got. I was about to try it out yesterday and connected it first time with my Macbook.

The app showed it immediately and asked for permissions, I allowed them one after another, but the last one for the USB access failed with the error "USB permission denied".

I read in some old threads, where people had to disabling/enabling MTP connections to get the popup showing years ago, but this doesn't change anything for me.

I did some tests with 3rd party Android apps and all show the Capture Card, but when it gets to permissions, I can't allow it. I have seen that there is a USB camera setting in developers, but this doesn't seem related to it. I checked also the permissions in the Android settings of the HDMI link app and there was "external camera" which I've granted. Anyway the capture card does nothing at all.

Sometimes I can see a crashing vrusb service ( black screen with a warning), when I try it too often in 3rd party Capture card apps. I am out of ideas.

I checked the usb port, everything works, USB Link, USB3, around 3Gbit/s throughput.

The capture card works on friend's Quest 3 (same model as mine)

Tried to boot via "boot device" from the recovery menu.

😞

any ideas about that usb popup? I'm on v74.1020, which has a horrible battery drain for me by the way. Bobo S3 helps there...

actually I got it solved by disabling auto detect of the sideload app Quest Games Optimizer. I found out, that it interferes somehow with the communication in the background

Dude, that actually worked for me as well. After granting the permission I can now reenable the auto detect and the USB cpature card keeps working with the HDMI link App. So QGO probably ate that grant permission window.
Thank you!!!

glad it helped 🙂
