Strange why meta won't delete my personal picture and videos 🤔 on Meta mobile app
How do I get around this close my account and create a new one ?
Any help would be good as meta don't wanna help just say this option has not been added.

Actually tho. It doesn’t make sense to have a download button but not a delete button. I don’t think it would be that hard to add. The funny thing is that I’m stuck with clips on my phone, but they aren’t on my headset. You would think that if I didn’t want them on my headset, I wouldn’t want them on my phone lmaoooo. Meta messed up on this one. Wish they would stop giving the same lame answer to try and help that doesn’t even work.

At this time, the best solution we can offer is to recommend that you submit the suggestion to our Idea Forums, as our engineering teams do go through those frequently. There have actually been cases where the engineering team plucked up certain high-traction ideas and implemented them into the software! You never know what new features could be in our next update!

1. "Thank you for your response; however, this has been done many times, and nothing has changed. Many people are experiencing the same issues and have already reported this to Meta."
2. "If a customer requests their data to be deleted, this should be done. Does GDPR not apply?"
3. "I have requested my images to be deleted from Meta servers, but they still remain. It seems like Meta has no idea how to resolve this issue or won't address it."
4. "Still waiting on them to fix this issue and awaiting my response."
5. "It doesn't sound like they know what they are doing. I informed them it's the app, and they told me to factory reset my headset. However, this didn't resolve anything with the app on my phone

Hey there! We completely understand that is not the answer you wanted. However, this has been brought up on our Idea forums and I can assure you the team knows this is something the community wants to have. There are a few workarounds here on the forums about this. However, you should know that it takes 14-90 days for pictures to get cleared up on your mobile app!
You can also find a few steps in the reddit family. I know this still might not be the answer you're looking for but trust me I wish we had this option as well.

The problem occurs if you turn off syncing before deleting the files from your headset.
I had some videos that were "stuck" in the phone app gallery. I waited 110 days, they did not auto delete.
Fortunately I had made copies of the files to my PC via the Link Cable. I restored the files to my headset, turned on syncing for the files and deleted them They deleted from my phone app gallery for good after that.
If you don't have backup copies of the files you might be able to put dummy files with the same exact name on the headset (and in the original folder) and see if you can fool the cloud into deleting them.
Of course if your headset has the bug where you can't make an MTP/USB connection without ADB or Sidequest you might be S.O.L.
You could try side loading CX File Explorer which will transfer files wirelessly and allows you to rename files in your headset.
Syncing remains turned off in my headset.
