so i bought a second hand oculus quest 1 of eBay but it didn't come with any controllers so then i looked around my house and found just one oculus quest controller i don't know how i have but i just do i was wondering if i could
Hey there. @theu5ualgamer. We see you've acquired an Oculus Quest off of eBay and are wondering if you're able to pair the 1 controller you found in your house. We're glad you're coming to join us in the VR community! We do have some information for you on this to help move you forward. First, you'd need to be sure this was indeed a Oculus Quest controller and not a controller for another device or it wouldn't pair. The set up would require both a left and right controller for the Oculus Quest. As it is no longer supported, the Oculus Quest and accessories are not sold on the official website. You'd need to look for a place where the controllers are being sold. With that being said, depending on your price range and what others are charging for each controller, it might be most cost effective to invest in the Quest 2. I too have bought my Quest 1 off of Ebay, it came with both controllers, but recently I have lost my right controller, anyway to remotely turn it on, It has a full battery in it so it should be easy to remotely turn it on or buzz it.
Please get back to me as soon as you can, I might need a new right controller, but also dont have the money to buy a new controller, I dont know if you have any Quest 1 controllers still on hand.
Hey there, @Cole01.01! We know how important it is to have two functioning controllers for your headset, so we're more than happy to discuss this with you today! Our headsets were not designed to work with only a single controller, so in order to use your Quest 1 headset, your original controller would either need to be found or a new one purchased. We do not have any options to replace a lost Quest 1 controller, so the only option would be to either obtain one through another means or to upgrade to a new device instead.
