i don't think i ever set up my guardian - and the "adjust guardian" buttons not responding

hi - week two using quest 2, and i've never set up or seen the guardian. in settings, trying to click on "adjust guardian" does nothing. i can change some of the other settings within the guardian menu. note - i never set up guardian initially so what i'm asking is whether i can somehow set it up now. i've tried a reboot and that hasn't done anything. thank you!

Hey hey! I just wanted to chime in here since I was able to find some more about what is going on with the Guardian right now. 

Currently, there is a known issue with the Guardian on v54 that is causing some issues with various features of the Guardian, including what you're experiencing when trying to adjust your Guardian.

The good news is that the engineering team is currently working on a fix! So if a factory reset doesn't quite resolve it, there should be a fix rolling out sometime in the near future.

Make sure you smash that Kudos button!

Hey there! @charlotte1111.2023, as long as you see your play area on your pass through and you are able to set your play space you should be fine. To clarify, the guardian Is one of two modes: stationary and room scale. Your play space is the area within these modes where you can move around. You can change the guardian by switching between Guardian modes or by redrawing your Guardian boundaries:

  • Press the oculus button on your right Touch or Touch Pro controller to pull up your universal menu.
  • Hover over the clock on the left-hand side of the universal menu. When Quick settings appears, select it to open the Quick settings panel.
  • Select  Guardian.
  • Select Stationary or Room scale, then follow the on-screen instructions to set up your Guardian.

You can also try some basic troubleshooting, such as factory resetting and rebooting the headset, to ensure that you followed the setup process correctly.

thanks! i tried that, and after i select the scale option, no instructions appear. i may have to factory reset.

i'm going to try factory resetting. the headset reboot didn't seem to change anything. thank you!
