issue starting any app from the quest universal menu with trigger key of my right controller

Dear support and community, 

Since around 3 weeks I have issues starting any app from the quest 3 universal menu by pointing with the right controller at it and clicking with the trigger key like I always did in the past.
Since a few day the problem seems to be permanent.
On the other hand, when I open the "Quest link menu" (obviously with the trigger key of the LEFT controller), I can press with the right trigger without any issue. In games the right trigger is working without any issue either, it's just about the universal menu which isn't registering the trigger press on any app of my right controller.

The battery is full (I just replaced it just to make sure), I removed the battery for 30 seconds, I restarted the Quest, I shut the Quest down for a while, I unpaired an paired the right controller again.

The fact that the right trigger key is working perfectly in games and immersive apps shows that the hardware of the controller is at least not broken.

I am out of ideas and would appreciate any help!
