meta quest 2 not pairing with ios bluetooth

Brand new meta quest 2. It will not completely pair with the Meta quest 2 app.

I am using an iPhone 6s with the meta quest app.

I have tried every suggested fix for this problem.

I have all the latest updates to ios, metaquest app, meta quest 2 headset.

when trying to pair in the meta quest app I get the old could not pair message.

the app accepts the headset code both automatically and manually.

Sometime its is a quick rejection then sometimes its several minutes of watching the spinner.

I look at the bluetooth connections in the iphone settings menu.

Occulus quest shows as connected but NOT with the typical i indicator.

I cannot disconnect manually.

turning the bluetooth off does a disconnect and also turning off the headset.

Seems like a number of owners have gone through this.

And why does it need both wifi and bluetooth anyway?

Seems this was an iPhone ios issue for me.

I discovered a way to run Google play on my Amazon Fire 7 tablet.

Once I loaded the Meta Quest app I easily paired it to the headset.

Everything is working.
