meta quest app

ok so i got today my quest 2 and i did everything good untill it told me to go to the meta quest app on my phone so i downloaded it and created an account when i entered the app it worked for a few seconds and then it crashes that means i cant pair my headset so its like i have the VR but cant do anything with it please help me


Can you tell us what mobile phone you have @Dasper6  ?

It says here  that the minimum OS requirements are 

  • Apple iOS 12.4+
  • Android 5.0+

but in the past when I've had to help people with this they have been using old mobile phones.

Remember that you only need to use a mobile phone for the initial setup so could try someone elses phone (just remember to delete the app afterwards).  It can be handy to have the app to use later on but not strictly necessary.

i tried using my realtive phones but the apps closeing on itself after a few seconds same with my phone

Hi there, @Dasper6! You definitely shouldn't have to continue without being able to pair and play on your headset! We certainly recognize how dismaying dealing with this situation has been, so we're glad to be able to share some troubleshooting steps to help get your Meta Quest mobile app on track for the headset pairing process! 

  • Disable any VPNs or antivirus (they may be preventing the mobile app from getting in touch with the Oculus servers.)
  • Try a different network/Wi/Fi.
  • Try a different network location.
  • Clear your phone's Bluetooth cache (this is different for every phone, so you may have to do some research to find the method best suited for your particular phone.)
  • Uninstall the Meta Quest mobile app, restart your phone, then reinstall the Meta Quest mobile app
