have no clue what spankbang is.. to be honest i rarely use the go as mainly its for my father in law who has dementia and used to watch VR nature and wildlife videos on it which he had a huge interest in all hes life. ( National geographic stuff in VR  ) and none of that has been working and he's been getting quite agitated with not being able to watch it

That's great news @Ryanality   Thank you for the update.

Fingers crossed that you guys got it right AND that next time, you'll make sure to QA the heck out of that feature before you deploy the next release.

It certainly feels like lots of people on this thread aren't keen on being patient when core functionality like this gets overlooked. I don't blame them....

Update Complete, seems to be working normally again! Thanks for the Update @Oculus_RyanS

Well, my bad.  😗

Well that's a relief. Thanks to everyone on here mine is working too.

A very poor communication between oculus staff at the start of this wasted a lot of my time. I empathise with some of the more impatient people on here and a bit of pressure may have helped however, it seems someone's got some unpicking to do on facebook etc.🙀

Hi,

I have the same problem.

I sent a message from the Oculus website and received a response from the Oculus Support:

"Hey, We love the webvr feature because it turns the normal browsing experience into something truly incredible. In the latest update, a bug slipped through that caused the Oculus Go Browser to crash when viewing immersive sites. We're currently testing a solution, and have just finished the first round of testing. While we don't have an exact timeline on when you can expect the fix to roll out, you can keep a close eye on our social media pages, and mega thread for any updates."

This leaves a really unsatisfactory hope.

I am disappointed to find that such a major bug was not detected in time.

The consequences for us users are catastrophic since our use of webVR with the Oculus Go no longer works.

And all the disastrous consequences on our private and professional activities.

It's really a hard hit we're getting from Oculus right now.

I hope the bug will be fixed as soon as possible.

My update was NOT automatic.

In your headset go to,  settings/see all/About

And click check for updates and wait. It took mine about 5 mins to dowmload and  install.  I had to restart manually afterward. My headset now works as it used to.

Thanks a lot for your answer.

I followed your advice but I can't click on "click check for updates" because there is no corresponding link/button.

I only have an inactive button "No updates available"

In 'About' at the top you should see a version number. The new update number is this:

v18 2000840.7740.0 (if this is what you have I'm stumped)

I suggest you do a factory reset then do the updates. I also reinstalled the oculus app from their site.

I have the same message saying that there are no updates available and the headset not working in VR. They said that it might be Friday before everyone's headsets work. There obviously is no urgency with helping the owners of older units.
