It seems to me, most people who are getting the update have not been involved in this thread.

Why do they suddenly join when their problem has been solved???

very good question/remark

it helps people to 'believe' it is 'really' coming.... one day.... waiting 1.5 months and counting.....

Meta trying to make us fool by replying fake update posts, now time to spread all this matter by all of us on twitter by hash tag Facebook community, meta and legal authorities, then see what happens with fb/meta.

This really is getting ridiculous. They broke it and it is taking forever to fix it.

The whole point of a VR headset is to be able to view VR content, so to break that (did anyone bother testing anything?) and then not to fix it with the utmost urgency is a sign of the contempt that Meta/facebook/Oculus hold for their users.

I understand them not supporting the GO going forward, but to actively break it and not caring about fixing it is taking things to a whole different level.

When I go looking for a replacement headset, Meta will be right at the bottom of the list.

I agree. Not supporting GO going forward is one thing. Making it entirely unusable is another. It does feel very contemptuous.

I believe my personal experience with this issues can definitively prove that Oculus, or Facebook, or Meta, whatever they want to call themselves these days is either 1.) Intentionally deprecating older equipment in a pathetic bid to bolster sales of the Quest or 2.) So terribly incompetent (with complete disregard for their customers and the quality of their product) that no sane human being should by their products or use their services. I’m inclined to believe the former but you be the judge:

In the first week of January I experienced the same issues; however, I did notice the right before I began to experience this issue my headset crashed (I clicked on the browser and the screen went black with three blinking dots and I couldn’t exit). After a forced reboot the headset no longer was able to access immersive VR in the browser. Tied the factory reset and all that to no avail.

I thought maybe an internal physical component had malfunctioned as mine is old and has been used a decent amount (reasonable). I was debating about buying the Quest and then stumbled on this thread so I decided to investigate further.

I borrowed my brothers Go as it was only used it a couple times before. It initially looked to be working properly; but then I connected it to my home WiFi and literally seconds after doing that it crashed like my old one had before – seconds after connecting to the WiFi!

And Alas, after rebooting this device the Immersive VR didn’t work. Given the problem everyone experienced at the same time, especially with the new quest out, the timing of this massive failure is more than auspicious.

I think we need to cut Ryan a little slack as he is clearly caught between a rock and a hard place (think yelling at a flight attendant about delays for bad weather). But Ryan, please communicate to your superiors that we know what Facebook is up to (this isn’t even a new trick, you could be more creative with your scams). They pretend to be an ethical company but are hypocrites like the rest and would rather coerce their customers into buying more than actually making a good product or servicing their customers. Ending support does not mean intentionally breaking something.

Regardless if the fix ever comes through or not (mine is still not working by the way), I will never buy or use a Facebook product ever again, it’s not worth the hassle.

Respectfully ,

Still waiting, looks like I'm going to be one of the last to get the update! I don't understand how it takes so long to roll out, I get iOS updates the same day

for all.... also good to know that this same subject can be found and commented on at the General section on the Oculus community:

https://forums.oculusvr.com/t5/General/Oculus-go-browser-crashing-for-more-than-a-month-empty-promis...

That is the General oculus section, probably higher ranked persons and many more people look at that part instead of only in this Oculus Go section which product oculus / facebook / meta seem to have closed down any how by shutting all the headsets down. They hope that not too many people look at this section probably, and given that they had no solution yet after 1.5 month waiting nobody higher ranked at facebook / meta/ oculus is looking in this oculus go section because no higher ranked manager would ever accept a product not working anymore for 1.5 month (just imagine your phone or your car not working for 1.5 month.... amazing).

so at General section good place to comment on this
